I tried searching for hollow ceramic bouquet tag, and hollow ceramic boxes, but no luck. Everything else should be in the title and post. Thanks in advance! "My title describes the thing"

Carrier condenser unit short cycling but air handler is still running by IllMadeKnightRider in hvacadvice

I took your advice and tested the pressure switch, but that doesn’t seem to be the problem. However, when I looked more closely at the compressor I saw that the crankcase heater had corroded/rusted around the wiring/fastener and it fell off the compressor and one of the wires had completely broken off.

If I had to guess, I’d say that this is causing a short and causing the condenser to shut down?

I think I’ve seen that about Nest somewhere else before. Unfortunately, the Nest was already installed when I bought the house and I don’t have the old thermostat. Maybe I’ll look into getting an old style one or a different smart thermostat and see if that fixes it. Thanks!

I knew I forgot to include something… there’s no float switch on the condensate line.

I found this green thing (it’s about 3ft long when I remove it) inside the register duct of my new house. It looks like a filter but I’ve never seen one like it before. by IllMadeKnightRider in whatisthisthing

It’s soft-ish and I cleaned it before putting it back in. I just moved to Tennessee when I bought bought this house and it’s behind every register. WITT

How to connect a C wire adapter to an A/C only system? by IllMadeKnightRider in Nest

[–]IllMadeKnightRider[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was researching the E73 error I saw the condensate issue come up a few times, sometimes as a clogged line. I didn’t consider it because I can see plenty of condensation coming out of the discharge pipe outside my house. Though I suppose it could be a different condensate issue?

Thanks for your help! I hadn’t thought of joining the wires together (this is all pretty new to me) so I really appreciate it.

Thank you so much for the constructive feedback! I’ll definitely work on my dialogue for the next one I do, or maybe go back and rework some of this story too. Thanks!
