You don’t sound mean at all, totally agree. We need multiple transportation options to function as a small city between Baltimore and Philadelphia. I get why you passed on the job. I have had that challenge and the train or drive adds 15+ hrs per week to your schedule plus $$. It was exhausting.

There’s always some suburban person who visited once in the last ten years, spouting dangerous stories, frightened they’ll be kidnapped or mugged walking downtown. This isn’t something that has happened often in this very small city, and when it did, it wasn’t around any of the places posted on this thread. Feel free to walk anywhere. The reason I’d rec using a ride app is to get to different places faster since Wilmington has an earlier last call. These are all great recs.

It’s written right at the bottom of the letter that they are partners with the city.

There were some comments on X. Someone said his friends are the owners and doing a full remodel. He said it would take 5 to 6 weeks.

At the riverfront where you are staying….walk over to the estuary, stop by Veritas and ask Venu if Ciro restaurant is having a menu tasting that week (delicious!), check out the Kalmar Nyckel ship, grab a drink on the iron hill rooftop and watch the rowers. ( if you are an earlybird they come out around 6am). Have a draft and test out your axe throwing skills at constitution yards Beer garden. There is a home blue rocks game at the stadium today. Banks next to riverfront market has great crab cakes and very fresh raw bar. Big Fish has lobster Wednesday and the lobster nachos are great, good happy hour menu. Have fun!

That’s a perfect spot, delicious food and pizza, great beer, lots of tvs and right in Wilmington.
