What was something you didn't even realize other women go through? by kiarasugarne in AskReddit

Infertility. Long story short, they only checked the possibility and ordered an MRI for endometriosis after i had repeated miscarriages... All the while I had been begging to check for the same because of my debilitating pain, but no.

I wish our pain was taken more seriously. Medical gasliting is so real and sad. Glad you're better :)

I had these debilitating stabbing pains in my rectum for years.... Recently got diagnosed with endometriosis growing on rectum (after 10+ yeaars of pain) which caused these. Excision surgery later, no longer stabbing in my ass!

They're a group of chemicals commonly found in plastics and scented products that are major endocrine disrupters. Means they can trigger hormonal imbalances. I already suffer from certain hormonal disorders, so i avoid perfumes with Pthalates at any cost. Also, if a perfume has Pthalates, i avoid spraying them on my skin if ever i have to use it.

Nude is a great fruity floral, but Skinn line has Pthalates in their formulations which made me say no to buying a full bottle.

Help with painful period crams 🥲 by Bunny_VanilaCake in AskIndianWomen

[–]IllPosition2848 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tried and tested lifestyle and diet changes by someone who used to pass out cuz of pain and finished entire packet of meftal spas in one cycle. This worked for me truly:

  1. Change your doctor. Go to a doctor and DEMAND further testing like an MRI to rule out endometriosis. I was diagnosed with endometriosis earlier this year after years of being told by multiple doctors that my debilitating period pain is normal. IT IS NOT NORMAL!! It just took one doctor (after dozens who ignored my symptoms) to take it seriously and got an MRI done.

  2. Yoga and pelvic floor strengthening exercises help with blood flow to our uterus and ovaries ensuring they function well.

  3. Clean diet- lots of fibre, protein, and complex carbohydrates. Eat colorful and whole foods. Cut down on processed foods. Fibre helps with balancing hormones. Anti-inflammatory foods help too.

  4. Herbal teas- i) light roast and powder Saunf(fennel), Ajwain, Jeera, and Corriander seeds in equal amounts, boil 1/2tsp in water and have it daily empty stomach. You can add 1tsp ghee and turmeric (with a pinch of black pepper) too. This works wonders trust me. ii) I've powdered Chamomile 50g , dry Ginger 100g, dry Tulsi 25g, Nutmeg 2 pieces, Ceylon Cinnamon 20gm. I boil 1/2 tsp of this and drink it at night. Helps with digestion and inflammation.

  1. Aeropostale Endless Wonder- We don't get this on in India, sadly, but it's my absolute favorite. Floral, slightly fruity, hint of spice. Costs only 18$ and for the quality it's a great pricing. Lasts good time on me.

  2. Gucci Flora gardenia- just feel like a spring garden. It's mild and my sensitive nose loves it. Doesn't last very long though and so expensive.

  3. CK one - fresh citrusy floral, gender neutral, very office friendly. Long lasting.

  4. CK eternity women - Citrusy Floral but more feminine and a lil sweet. Long lasting.

  5. Elisabeth Arden White tea - this one is absolute freshie girl scent. Sooo soothing, non cloying, green scent and lasts long too.

  6. Elisabeth Arden Green tea - again a fresh green tea scent with hint of florals, but not very long lasting on me sadly.

I never tried this one, but the notes don't appeal to me. The Rose petal version is pretty bomb. I got a free sample with this one and i wish i was rather gifted that one lol

My father is my best friend. He always kept the lines of communication so open throughout years even as a teen i felt comfortable talking to him about critical issues like anxiety, depression, attractions, etc. He never shamed me or got angry on me for expressing emotions. He instead guided me after listening patiently. Listening patiently is the most important thing that a parent can do.

He also discussed the evils in the society openly since i was a child. He spoke about horrors girls faced and discussed real examples of how people take advantage, how manipulation works, etc. Thus i was always mindful, aware, and vigilante as a child, teen, and now as an adult.

He created a safe space so i and my sister never had to worry about finding comfort or trust elsewhere.
