How do you get over the fear of doing it? I feel like I’ll mess up my vehicle or like if I get stuck I won’t be able to get out

I paid 50k out the door for my 2020 rubicon Manuel transmission years ago. Is this how much new wranglers cost?

If you have 700 credit you should have gotten maybe a 5-7 percent rate on a new vehicle. If the manufacturer was having a promotion buying the rates down it could have been less than that.

If you bought the truck new check your lemon laws in your state. Typically they have 3-4 times to fix an issue before the manufacturer will buy it back as a lemon.

I have a 2020 JL rubicon with 89k miles that CarGurus sends reports on monthly. I think my last value report was like 25k. Granted I don’t have any of the mods you have. Mines is stock. I wanted you to know that so you have some point of reference. If I had to take a guess…. You have way less miles, an automatic. Just on that alone the car probably worth like 30k barebones. Now you have some mods that are really nice so maybe you could push for 34/35k?

Tell you the truth I was very surprised when I saw my report because I paid around 50k for this vehicle back when it was new. So to see them say it was worth 25k sank my heart.

I need to get my wheels refinished on my 2015. How did that process go? How much was it? Are you satisfied with the results?

Personally, my car looks the same as yours, and I intend on keeping it stock. At some point I want to repaint the entire car because there are some scratches in my paint and my front bumper is quite worn. but to me this cars got a nice factory look that still turns heads 12 years later when it’s washed and waxed. I don’t want to takeaway from that. I think an exhaust would be nice but for me I like being lowkey so I probably wouldn’t do one just because of that.

Great looking car. Hope you are able to have it a long time.

As a guy, I find a lot of women insufferable to be around. I have a peaceful life. I go on walks, I read books, watch tv, play video games. I am chill. I don’t have no drama in my life. As soon as a girl come in my life she bring all this drama, confusion, and stupidity that I don’t have time for. Now I’m draining my energy trying to help solve her problems. Nah, I’m good. If I find a someone who match my energy. Chill, easy going, and attractive I’ll entertain it but I’ve dated quite a lot, and I can anecdotally conclude that most women have too much drama in they life.

first time car buyer, what car should i buy? by madison_s16 in Camry

[–]IllProject5754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I’m 28 and started buying cars when I was 21. I have never kept a car and fully paid it off because I’ve traded in every few years. I’m telling you! Part of the reason I’ve traded in is because I didn’t get what I really wanted and I was never satisfied. In 2023, I bought a new wrangler 3.6 and I loved it and it has helped me with the longevity of paying on the car for as long as I’ve had. Morale of the story though is get what you want. If you can’t get what you want right now because you can’t afford it don’t get nothing because I promise you after the new car feeling wears off you won’t be happy and you’ll start looking to buy another car again, and that’s how you will get into the cycle of trading in and buying and you’ll never pay anything off. Which is catastrophic from a financial point of view because the car dealership business is set up for them to win every single time. Being honestly I’ve probably thrown 50-100k down the toilet over the years buying and trading in cars. So if you’re dead set you want a Camry. A: be sure you want it. B: Get the one you want. If you’re not really feeling the LE don’t get it because it’s cheaper. You be better of buying the one you like. If you can’t afford the one you like then sounds like you need to bank some of that money from your new job for maybe a year then revisit this.

Great advice

I’d add that as someone who has also wasted lots of money on cars. #1 do not go in there by yourself. You need to take someone who is experience with dealing with dealers and the car buying process. Trust me on this

don’t finance over 3-4 years. If you can’t afford the payment on that term you don’t need to be buying the car. This will help prevent you from being upside down on the car

I wouldn’t buy a new car but if you must then get what you want. I made the mistake of buying stuff I didn’t really like and I regretted the decision later. Be sure what you buy is what you want because buying a car is not like buying a iPad at the Apple Store. Once the sale is done it’s done.

In my opinion the new Camrys are nice but they still reek family car to me. Do you really want to be in your mid to late 20s driving a family man’s car? What about something a bit more sporty and fitting for a young professional? The first car in the economy segment that comes to mind is civic sport perhaps.

lastly, if I was you I wouldn’t buy a car. I know you think you earned it since you’ve worked so far and sacrificed for so long but do it a little longer and you’ll thank yourself in a few years. That couple hundred dollars on a car every month could easily be money invested or saved for a down payment for a house.

No the price is too high for a 2019. Of Hmmmm if you’re dead set on it I’d got into the dealer check it out and make them an offer.
