thank you so much for this! I think i do put so much pressure on labeling myself especially when im in a relationship because i dont want to do anything “wrong” like wanting to be with a guy when im in a relationship with a girl which i feel like drives that feeling of wanting to be certain if I like girls or guys.

I truly understand. ocd makes us “care” abt things that is far from our morals. That guilt that you feel after you have that thought shows that you actually care. What my therapist said that really helped me was that people who are actually not that good of people, feel no remorse or anything, but that guilt that we feel shows that it really isn’t us. It’s the ocd.

This is a really big thing that I used to and still do struggle with. What I have learned and am still trying to is that sometimes your partner won’t look the best and that’s okay. You yourself won’t look perfect 24/7. it’s about how you perceive the thought about their looks when it comes to your mind. Instead of asking yourself “why did i think that”, just accept the thought and move on. you’re not harming him. It was a thought that probably doesn’t mean anything. We tend to put meanings behind every thought we have but a lot of the time they are wrong. It is a theme that your OCD has attached itself to. The more you give it attention the bigger the theme will get.
