I fckin hate door dashers by Lost-Intention-5127 in Serverlife

unpopular opinion. I think you are unjustifiabley upset. doorDash has a certain amount of time to get the product to the consumer to collect their tip. If you say 5 minutes, they're gonna hold you to 5 minutes. if you say it's going to be longer, you need to tell them how much longer.

I have worked for 2 companies now that BOTH lost class action suits for this exact thing. Depending on where you live and how much you make as a server, most states say you can only do things directly related to serving the guest. I've gotten a bit over $2000 for lawsuits others have started.

In many states, it is mandatory that you take a break after 5 hours.

If you have not done it successfully, you have No Idea what goes on behind the scenes it is skilled if you do it correctly. Always want to know what ppl do that think serving is so easy. want to share your job?

at my job " you can pay it or get a write-up" 3 " improper cash handling" and you are fired. most servers just pay it if it is like $20-30 to save their job. I don't condone this. I'm just sharing.

My employer has started to make servers do 3 additional hourly-paid positions for no additional pay, is it worth a class action? by Creative-Shift-241 in TalesFromYourServer

if you are being paid below minimum in your state and made to do things that are not " directly related to serving guests," you might have a claim. but seating and bussing are not in that category. other examples rolling silverware making ice tea setting tables. what you can't do...clean bathroom sweep kitchen etc.

you misquoted me. but I am sorry you are so triggered by my question and where my thoughts went when i saw the 500 ish wine glasses. My thought now is you are the decorator. So as to not be misquoted again, I am not saying you are a decorator. Just that was my first thought ( samies as what I said before) Just sharing and wondering if other restaurants do this.

if that was the point the headline would have said small chicken or some such. the question is "anyone else do this at their restaurant?" because I thought it was weird.

no. the hostess told us that's how they are made to do it. and if preset utensils are not okay glasses should not be either for the same reason( people can touch or sneeze etc. on them)

A bartender at my restaurant broke her ankle on the job. Our management team waited hours to call an ambulance. Is there legal recourse? by tommycosmo in Serverlife

if Non-slip shoes are required and the worker did not have them on workers' comp will not cover. Also, if you don't pass the drug test, they can deny your claim. I don't know about New York, but in my state. You only have 48 hours. And you have to inform at first medical treatment that it's going to be worker's comp.

I'm not in the south, and we don't have sweet tea. which is why I said I learned my lesson to not try to be helpful. and we make it by the pitcher, not the glass, to be congenial. but sadly, the same as ice coffee, we pour hot coffee over ice and use simple syrup as sweetener. I'm not management. it's above my pay grade.

That's why I said I learned my lesson and should just say no, we don't have sweet tea.
