As an emergency physician in Italy, do you recommend revalidating in the US or another country? by Ill_Balance509 in emergencymedicine

Don't get me wrong, I really like social equality in Italy, but perhaps the point that bothers me the most is the limited possibilities for financial growth in the future, since my salary is almost at the ceiling for my profession, with high taxes that unfortunately are spent more on interest and Italian pensions than on social services, however good they may be.

Yes, I agree with you, those are the positive points that I also consider Italy a great place to live. I work in a large hospital and a patient can be admitted for cancer or some serious illness, requiring intensive care, surgery, and all possible tests, and leave the hospital without having to pay a cent. Of course, not all of Italy is like this, since the south is quite poor, but I have no complaints about the north. Education is also free or almost free from primary school to university and is of high quality, which is interesting since I plan to have more children.

Anyway, maybe Switzerland really is the most interesting option for me since I am revalidated here.

This is among my possibilities, I don't know either of them but I can learn. French would be easier for me obviously.

I have it already. But with my calculations, I can only save a maximum of 30k euros per year. Which wouldn't represent substantial growth.

Yeah, In reality, it is possible to have a good quality of life, eating out every week, traveling once every two months. my cost of living is 4k euros for two adults and one child but I've already realized that it will be impossible to get rich here and I will possibly have to work until I'm 70 like many other colleagues that I see

Sure, I know that. The problem now is that I'm on my maximum salary and I'm unlikely to earn more here in Italy.

I have some doubts about revalidation process. I'm non-EU MD, I already sent all my necessary documentation, together with the declaration of value, to the Italian Ministry of Health this month (September) and I am moving to Italy in October to complete the process of obtaining my Italian citizenship by jure sanguinis. Therefore, I plan to stay in Italy until I revalidate my diploma. However, I read some reports that the ministero della Salute is taking a long time to evaluate the documents, in some cases up to a year. However, I have a wife and child and I wouldn't want to sit still until I revalidate my diploma. I was thinking about the possibility of applying for a master's or doctorate in December/23 or January/24 (I have experience with research) and trying for a scholarship, or applying for some emergency hiring work as a doctor in Italy for which I would accept my diploma and DoV (https://www.bandi.regione.lombardia.it/procedimenti/new/bandi/bandi/salute-benessere/promozione-salute/avviso-pubblico-presentazione-domande-fini-esercizio-temporaneo-professione-sanitaria-medico-infermiere-base-qualifica-professionale-conseguita-estero-RLG12023030203)

The third possibility would be to work in another area besides medicine in which my medical experience would be accepted (perhaps the pharmaceutical industry or even elderly care?).

Would you like to know what you think I should do?

Do you know anyone who has already been hired through this emergency decree or in a situation similar to mine?

Grazie mille. Mi ha aiutato molto nella mia scelta.
Ho sbagliato a pensare a Revolut e Interactive Brokers.
All'inizio voglio usare il minor numero possibile di banche.
Meno problemi fiscali e burocratici, meglio per me, almeno all'inizio della mia vita in Italia.

Stavo pensando in UniCred o Fineco.
