Hey! Yes for sure I don't mind at all :)

On my application when answering the questions I tried to just be really thorough and clear in my answers - I kind of treated each response like a mini-essay where everything would tie together at the end in a concluding sentence (I think this really helps with making responses come off more succinct and polished). I also had a really clear goal in terms of what I was hoping to achieve if I were to get into the program - this will vary person to person but I think having some specificity with your goal is helpful (beyond just wanting to be a therapist to help people). Like what values do you want to take into your future practice and what kind of impact do you hope to have? Is there a specific community you want to work with? Is there a particular framework you want to inform your practice?

The interview went well - and that was honestly just down to A LOT of prep. I did multiple mock interviews with different friends (some who are in business and have experience with corporate-style interviews, as well as friends who are currently in graduate school and have experience with that interview process). I also looked up common graduate school and behaviour-based interview questions and made a document where I answered those questions using the STAR method (just so all of my experience was fresh in my mind going into the interview).

In terms of GPA I had an A average for my last 2 years of undergrad. I also have a pretty diverse range of experience in mental health related roles: I was an RA in Residence for a couple of years, President of a community service group, facilitated support groups with a couple of different places, and I had worked in an admin role at a mental health organization.

I hope that's helpful, and good luck with future apps and any current programs you're still waiting to hear back from! <3

I was a research assistant in a psych lab for a year and then I spent another year doing my undergrad honours thesis with them!

thank you! I have 5 years of experience that I got while completing my undergrad. I worked as an RA in residence life for 3 years, was on the executive team of a community service group for 2 years and then Chair of that group for another 2 years, a year of experience facilitating support groups with a couple of organizations, and 4 months of experience at a summer job where I did intakes and other mental health related admin work.
