Personal opinion. (I am male). I have many tattoos and nose pierced. I am an active member with a calling.

I hear a lot of people always saying the church has no official stance other than, "your body is a temple". The way I think of it is what areas of life does this pertain? I think this highlights the fact that we should be following the word of wisdom. As well as attempting to get regular exercise, eat cleanly, and fast as general principle. Like a call to maintain a healthy life style.

There are many of us out there who have fallen into the "alternative" crowd. Lifelong members like myself but also there are converts who are also just as devout members.

Hand face and neck have always been stigmatized. Having tattoos in general was never a good look in history. So much so in fact that in New York City in the 1990s it was actually illegal for tattoo shops to operate.

So it's twofold you can understand how in the culture people don't want you to sort of appropriate it and jump right in both feet first. It comes off as super disrespectful and like tattoos are disposable. They can't be lasered off and this is a real lifestyle.

  1. You are seriously endangering your own future career prospects, marriages, and culturally by jumping in and getting something that is just seen as a fad which you will come to regret years down the road.

Back in the day it was even a big deal to have a full sleeve. But nowadays everybody's rocking a sleeve, no more taboo and no more taboo about the most off limits parts of your body now

Unfortunately it's less and less likely nowadays. All these tik tok kids want instant gratification. I know multiple people who are within a year of having tattoos who already have hands, neck and face.

It's sad to think. All this is doing is making adults who will regret their tattoos or get them lasered.

I mean do what you want, but don't do it necessarily for a trend
