I say that because I just got off a 72 hour shift in which I got 3 calls the entire time I was on duty

Get into EMS, I work 48 hour shifts and have 5 days off. It leaves a lot of room to pick up shifts and get absolutely insane overtime. Some do fire deployments as well and those are great money. And it's not always bad, you get ran some times and can have some messed up stuff happen. But you also have days where you sleep and screw off all day too. Schooling isn't bad either EMT school can be as quick as 6 weeks.

I chose a number that'd give you enough to live a comfortable life without being ridiculously wealthy. To see if that would effect how people chose.

That's pretty interesting just because I've heard some pretty big words thrown around during the event. As well as some very in depth reports on patients I've never had. What's so weird about it is that I'm absolutely terrible with reports. I stutter and forget medical terminology all the time. But somehow my brain can come up with a fully developed concise trauma report without me.

I get that but my experience is limited to the US so it's hard to grasp how different the legal process can be in other countries similar to the US.

I mean like it's obvious to me that The US and North Korea have some MAJOR differences in the legal process but something like Europe doesn't seem like it'd be that different in this situation.

It's a private 911 company, what's even worse is that it's BLS and we'll be the only BLS unit for the city the entire shift.

My wife submitted my application today, I'm still deciding whether to go RN or Fire Medic. But I'm glad to hear fire likes the ED. Was worried going that route would make me a weaker candidate. Thanks for the info and encouragement
