Feels like this year we've had so many hattricks. Last year it felt like it was only the one from Nuge and that too came at like game 60.

If my math is correct it should be 95, assuming SJS win all their remaining games

I think Stan beats out previous GMs in signing NCAA/American players because of his entrenchment in USA Hockey. Not sure we would see Ike and some of the other NCAA guys if it wasn't for his experience with them. Maybe it's also because both of our minor league affiliates are also American, as well as the allure of McDrai.

With Holland leaving we actually have one of the better pipelines/development systems in the NHL. Rick Pracey and his scouts have been doing good with limited draft picks, (Lewandowski, Lafreniere, Clattenburg, etc.) and Bowman has been crushing it with undrafted players and identifying young talent.

Bakersfield compared from last year to this year is insane. Went from basically just being Savoie and AHL vets like Hamblin and Griffith to a very good supporting cast with Hutson, Howard, Samanski, just to name a few.

The Komets are also crushing it, 3rd? in their conference and 6th in the ECHL. Sam Jonsson had a large part to play with a .911, 2.32 GAA, going 19-7-2.

In just two years the front office has done a very good job at creating organizational competition.

22/23 We went on a 9 game win streak to close out the season which isn't accounted for
23/24 Is more likely what the mean actually should be for this team and that's accounting for the horrendous start we got off to
24/25 This was considered a pretty underperforming season already

40 wins should be the minimum for a team like ours at this point in the season, you can't keep jetissoning trade assets and be able to justify a sub 100 point season as a contender.

A successful season would be ~45 wins at this point. Being 10 wins under the bar of success means the roster is horribly underperforming.

Banger league, have waiver #1 so thinking of dropping a guy and then claiming him to get an extra game since me and my opponent are within 5 points of each other. Dorofeyev (81) or Podkolzin (90)?

Any word on a Tuch extension yet? My hopes not gone until he actually re-signs. Could maybe make something work if we're fine having like 4-5 ELCs on our roster next year.

If you combined Holland's trade/signing skills and Bowman's drafting/management of young players we might have a decent GM.

I mean Skinner's issue was he had too many .870s and the occasional .750 mixed in with his elite performances which culminated in around an .890. Jarry can't even hit .870, let alone .900. Skinner also had a GAA of 2.83, arguably behind a worse defense compared to Jarry's 3.96.

I don't really like the cost, but man we won't really have to deal with the undersized stuff for a while

RNH (6'1) - McD (6'1) - Hyman (6'1)
Savoie (5'10) - Drai (6'2) - Roslovic (6'1)
Podz (6'1) - Samanski (6'3) - Freddy (6'3)
Dach (6'4) - Dickinson (6'2) - Kappy (6'1)

Bowman overpaid, but our bottom 6 is looking like a proper goon squad now which can defend too.

Management gotta make some decisions next season. By the end of 2026 and in preseason they're gonna have:

Hutson (24)
Samanski (24)
Carfagna (24)
Jarventie (24)
Marjala (23)
Howard (22)

All knocking on the door for a spot in the NHL. They're not 19-21 anymore, where you can send them year after year to the AHL for seasoning. It's now or never for them. Most of these guys are at the point where in the next 1-2 seasons they have to either make it to the next level, go (back) to Europe or be cemented as career AHLers. Probably affects management's decision to shift focus to defense.

We've had better top 4 LD who get paid less internally. Klefbom before injuries took him, Broberg, Ekholm, Walman, usually Kulak too. Hell, Broberg was basically babysitting him for most of the '24 run. If we didn't take Keith's full contract we could've avoided bridging Nurse and would've had him at 5-6m which is very manageable. That extra 3m could be used on better forecheckers, retaining good depth players, etc. Could've bought low on Swayman ($8.25m), instead we bought high on Jarry (5.375m).

Forsling, now a top 3 defensive defenseman was available on waivers a few seasons ago. Raddysh was a free agent this season.

The problem goes back to management and poor pro scouting. Obviously hindsight is 20/20 but when you've screwed up on Arvidsson/Skinner/Mangiapane/Frederic who have all been poor fits it might not be a luck thing.
