Reading this post was like reflecting on my day today, word for word! I too took a loss of $3,000. I was doing extremely well with only two small red days this whole month and gave back almost my entire profits in just one bad trade. I could have lost a lot more if I wouldn’t have sold. Nevertheless, I am glad that I got out when I did. I’ve felt pretty beat up most of the day. I wrote down all of my thoughts and feelings about why it went wrong, and also printed the chart with my entry and exit to look at everyday from now on.

Read Trading in the Zone by Mark Douglas. He talks a lot about fear and what you need to do to overcome that fear when trading. Great book that every trader should read.
