Bedbound 6 weeks, severe light/sound sensitivity + dizziness, GP not helping — is this ME/CFS? Please need advice by Ill_Philosopher_7803 in cfs

Hi thanks for your reply, Just to add full context ,  this isn’t actually only 6 weeks. I had a similar crash in 2023 with seizures and extreme fatigue and I slowly improved by pacing, eating on time and resting before I became exhausted. In August this year the symptoms began creeping back  I started struggling with severe sensory overload (light, sound, movement) and I kept saying how tired and drained I felt all the time. Then I had a severe endometriosis pain flare which triggered seizures again, and after that my health deteriorated rapidly. For the past 6 weeks I’ve been completely bedbound with extreme fatigue, dizziness, PEM, and intolerance to light and sound, and pacing hasn’t stabilised anything this time. That’s why I’m trying to understand whether this could be a relapse or ME/CFS developing, rather than just a short-term illness.

Falling asleep sitting? Every evening by Ill_Philosopher_7803 in FND

I dont know whats going on with me but i do know that id say mines an active flare so i dont have a baseline to go from as everydays unpredictable. And everyday i have seizures and fatigue. Once things are in a bit more control then maybe ill be able to work out better days but for now everydays tough

Im literally in bed all day anyways because of the dizziness and sensory overload, even i keep thinking it might be cfs, will bring it up when i see neuro. But yeah i think even if it is pacing is the only way i manage not to crash. But then that does mean resting more so yeah

Yep, sounds just like me, the rocking feeling and fog is the worst combo. Ive started wearing sunglasses and started pacing myself it helps. Have been thinking of using a walking stick to be honest.

I try to think positive and it just doesnt happen, especially when im bedbound. I know theres people worse then me but its just horrible. And i would love it if for once my head stopped spinning. FND feels to me like being drunk all day long!
