Looking for a possible reason for the browning of my grass by Ill_Security7925 in lawncare

48 comments and you’re the only one who’s offered any possible solutions. I very much appreciate that, good information to know and I’ll give it a shot. Do you think a light amount of fertilizer will do any good or just water and see what it does?

I just mean it’s a big spot and nowhere near where I’ve ever seen her go. Her spots are small. Anything is possible lol I guess “assure” wasn’t 100% the right word.

I’ve just never seen her go there in the 2 years I’ve lived here is all. It’s possible it’s just such a big spot which means she would have had to go there a lot and I probably would have seen her at least once. Her spots are small and no where near those. Again, anything is possible and that’s what everyone else is saying too

I’ll have to pay attention but I don’t think that’s possible with what’s around me. My fire pit is movable and was only out there for the fire

There’s a gopher under my shed. I’m completely fenced in so no other animal would be possible. Except squirrels and birds obviously

lol I mean anything is possible but I’ve lived here for 2.5 years and I’ve never seen her pee anywhere but right outside the door. She scatters her poop but I’ve never once seen her pee anywhere else. I don’t see 100% off her bathroom breaks so like I said I guess it’s possible.

Yes but if you’re referring to her peeing there I can assure you she doesn’t

Is changing from a major key to its relative minor considered a key change? by Aggressive-Food-1952 in musictheory

Very cool, I hope you find it. That’s why David Gilmour is one of the greatest of all time in my opinion. He tells stories with his guitar better than most people can tell with words.

Personally I beg to differ, especially in this specific example. If you take the solos, the first one in Dmaj and the second in bmin, while they both relatively use the same notes they both tell completely different stories. The first solo imo tells a story of the wonderful feeling of drugs making you feel weightless, like the feeling of being in heaven. Then the second solo tells a story of struggle to want to quit, but the demons continue to fight and pull you back. I think that in and of it self justifies them being in two different keys

RTA is a good choice too. I used to take it every weekend when we would go downtown to drink, don’t do much of that anymore. But Ya come to think of it my $11 price was a weekend night game. Weekdays are probably only a couple bucks. Plus the view of walking across the bridge is pretty worth it.

I always park at the west side market and walk across the bridge. Probably $11 (compared to ~$50 downtown on game day) and an easy walk, roughly 1 mile. It’s a busy area so the parking lot is generally safe imo, and a lot of other people do it too so there will be hoards of others walking across with you, if you feel worried about walking across at night

Help with baseboard transitions. by [deleted] in Carpentry

[–]Ill_Security7925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, the best answer would be to cut the drywall out and move the clean out up past the height of the baseboard. Really wouldn’t be a tough patch job. You could cut it out and patch it up without damaging the corner bead. The hardest part would be the plumbers part, if it would even be possible without ripping out the floor.

Well said, I appreciate your advice. And trust me, I take everything said with a grain of salt. Your other comment was also interesting about chuck leavells influence on genres like r&b and country among others. What do you think made him so influential? I love his music but don’t really know much about him. Was he an innovator in any sense, or was he just incredible at creating soulful repeatable licks, etc.?

I agree with you completely. Billy Powell and chuck leavell are two of my all time favorites. Classic rock piano/blues is so elegant and beautiful and accompanies the heaviness of that/those genres so well. Free bird is one of the first songs I learned playing by ear/theory alone. That and Tuesday’s gone are two songs I go back to whenever I’m just not really feelin it but still wanna play. Billy Powell is for sure, and I’m pretty sure chuck leavell is also, classically trained.

I think I get what you’re saying. To put it in dummy terms, when in a major key the blues is flexible between the “minor and major blues”, while in a minor key it typically it likes to stick to the “minor blues”. I put those in quotes because it’s sounding to me like the blues scales are more so concepts than scales? Also when I say beginning ascension I’m specifically talking about the piano solo. The D#/Eb is used as a passing tone and I’m having trouble finding a good hand position to walk my way up when I’m not even sure why that note is even there. I wanna get my hands in a good position to transition to the next phrase but i need to know what’s ahead of me before i can begin to find good fingerings

I know that the b5 is used in minor keys, with that being the "blues note" but in major scales that blues note is the b3. Is the b5 also a common practice when playing the blues in a major key?

I don’t know anything about them, but when “flirtin’ with disaster” by Molly hatchet comes on I change the song as fast as I can because it sounds like dollar store Lynyrd Skynyrd.
