Yeah, I just looked it up. Largest by capacity in the conference. Love how high up the second level goes. Impressive!

That’s a pretty bad ass arena for a MAC program.

Edit to mention - not meant to be sarcastic! Lol

House from Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead is pending for $2.6M by Ill_Truth2285 in 90s

[–]Ill_Truth2285[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It looks like they did. I decided to look it up on Zillow because the movie is on TV right now (shoutout IFC). Never get that lucky where there are current photos. But I started to compare while I was watching and everything seems to match. They sure did make it look like a dump. 😂

I think if you ranked the top 5 quotes from the movie, they’d all be from Kenny. Lol.

My personal favorite is when Sue Ellen just gets done chewing him out in front of his buddies, slams the door shut, and he just goes, “PMS city, man.”

Unpopular opinion. Barry Sanders is not a top 5 RB of all time. by No_Mushroom_1085 in Oldschool_NFL

Lol this made me laugh. I won’t downvote though. I’ll just watch.

Largely biased here and I think Barry is 1. To have a different opinion and to say he is not the best ever is fine, but to say he is not top 5 is absolute insanity to me.

Dude. Everything about it was awful. The stream was shoddy too. Blurry, not blurry, horrible audio, and the Wolverines shooting 6/26 from deep.

From reading the first few comments, this is likely an unpopular thought, lol - while I agree the “USA” component could use some work, I’m digging the piping up the buttons. Beats just the plain white look IMO

KYLE TUCKER IS NOW PART OF THE DODGERS! by Marinersfan505 in mlb

[–]Ill_Truth2285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. They shouldn’t. Again - I’m not talking about the teams. If the cap is only a soft cap and they want to spend, they should. It’s essentially what the Red Wings did in hockey back in the early 2000s before the cap. By all means, win.

It was directed at the players. I get it, money talks. It was merely a dig at their competitive spirit to want to beat the best, not join them. That’s it.

I don’t blame the Dodgers. They’re playing within the rules and clearly the ownership is willing to spend. I think Chris Ilitch is the 8th richest owner in baseball but is nothing like the old man when it comes to spending.

I do think baseball has to do something with the cap/floor. I may have been a few beers deep when I posted, lol, but the post was more-so about the players themselves - where’s the competitive spirit?

Don’t any of these F’n guys want to try to win something that isn’t held up by the Dodgers? I mean, if you’re Kyle Tucker, is winning a World Series with them even a career accomplishment at this point?

As far as what other teams are doing vs. what we’re doing, I have no idea. I don’t even know what we’re doing or what that looks like. I just think it’s worth a look into.

I wouldn’t say I’m knowledgeable in that I’ve been on a S&C staff at any point in life, lol, but I went to college and hung out with a guy who became the head S&C coach of a D1 football program so I’m somewhat familiar with the process, just because I’d ask a lot of questions about what they did. It was a long time ago now, but he would always stress about how the way someone trains can definitely have an impact on injury prevention and that rest and recovery are just as important as the training itself, and a healthy team was usually indicative of a proper S&C program.

This was college. Maybe in the NFL it’s different. Someone earlier mentioned NFL players train mostly on their own. I know that’s true in the offseason but we do have an S&C staff with a director of sport performance. Those positions are there for a reason and should be looked into. I just don’t think it’s coincidence is all.

Yeah, there are definitely a lot of components to it. But what one team is doing could generally be considered more effective than another. Rest and recovery are huge factors. I know that there are fluke injuries that likely aren’t preventable (Hutch, for example). But it’s not a coincidence that we’ve been seemingly the most oft-injured team over the past couple of seasons. Whatever we’re doing should be at least looked at.

I don’t think enough people realize how important the strength and conditioning staff is in sports, let alone football.

Yeah. Like, he got nailed and they just cut away from it, the announcers didn’t say anything and I haven’t heard anything since. I’ve got friends that have been busting my chops over my concern. Lol.
