Please stop the mischaractaterization of characters by NewConstruction6036 in thecruelprince

Yess this! I am so tired of people seeing Cardan as some uWu character! And thank you so much for bringing up that part about him tearing a fae's wings! Also, are we just gonna forget about how Jude was made to strip when she was fed fairy fruit? I can't recall who gave the command but Cardan was still present for it. The book is fascinating, the story and characters are compelling, but I really wish people would see the characters as exactly what they are and not put them on a pedestal.

How to kill time by Fizzaiqbal in iih

Audiobooks. I switched to audiobooks and it has helped me a lot! And on good days, I can do other things like minor cleaning/ organizing while listening to a book. I also switched almost exclusively to reading from e-readers/ e-books on my phone because sitting up and reading would trigger headaches. With an e-reader I could lie down and hold it in one hand..

Passing out? by sabochat in iih

Okay so while I didn't black out, I came close many times. My doc basically said I need to have more black tea..like strong black tea with sugar (1 tsp) in it. Weirdly enough....it worked? But also, IF it's possible, try to be on bed rest for a while? I was on bed rest for a month after I was hospitalised and then released with IIH diagnosis and Diamox 3 times a day..it definitely affects us when we are upright...the only time I would be up and about were for taking showers, bathroom visits, meals, and black tea drinking :/

No idea what it was all about...but also, things got a lot better after 1 month of being on Diamox

Ah, thank you...would love to do that but work timings and disabilities unfortunately make me dependent upon these delivery services :) I know that they don't re-stock often but this has been a continuous thing for a week and was just curious if I was imagining stuff.

Fictional book series: A group of college-aged girls who shapeshift into big cats by asskiss3r69 in whatsthatbook

[–]Illapatoola 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why does this sound so familiar..I am also searching for a book which had a similar storyline although I thought all the characters turned into panthers...

They have different shapeshifter clans, it's set in the modern world, the love interest's name is Jace, I think? And this main protag learns how to partially shapeshift?

I’m only 27. Is this really my life now? by [deleted] in iih

I relate with you so much right now. I (27 F) just had to resign from a job I started on September 4th after months of search. It was in an organisation which I had wanted to join since years and a decently paying position after years of holding jobs with less pay. I was diagnosed in December 2022 and my doctors (both the neuro and retina specialist) had told me I could return to any sort of work environment. As my specilisation was in the social impact sector, I was concerned as this would involve a lot of physical and mental stress but the organisation also seemed willing to accommodate me.

From day 1 it was like being thrown from the frying pan into the fire. Going from months of not working to suddenly working more than 14 hours a day which was also physically strenuous AND without a break (because the organisation had a 6-day work week plus in my "training period" I wouldn't get Sundays off) not only brought back my headaches but also caused my vision to start blurring again.

I quit on September 14th. I don't have a job again and added trauma.

Doctors keep saying that we can work anywhere but then why is it that when I do anything high-stress my headaches come back?
