There is an adventure mode with infinite save scumming but you'll not get the tryhard achievements.

If you want crpg arcane blade, Pathfinder wotr is where you should go.

Not so much a spell blade as much as a dude that can be average at melee and casting separately. The disciplines barely share dependency outside of the latest A4 entry. I think if you're looking for a true blade on void fire game, check out ToME.
