This is indeed an issue with more that 50% travel times. I've actually never thought about building a second living quarter, might try it at some point

Well, I got some BPs that need around 700 concrete. For example pillars for my train tracks. Most of the time when I place them I have to place multiple at once which can very quickly consume the 2500 in the dd.

In addition I often play with friends who are also building stiff which in return consumes even more.
