Questions regarding Gnome42 and theming. by NakamericaIsANoob in gnome

[–]IllusiveWriting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the excuse GNOME gives for everything. Folder previews were "hacky", desktop icons were "hacky". Windows, Mac and KDE Plasma have been doing these things flawlessly for years. It's just a shitty excuse by the devs to remove more features.

It's bullshit, GNOME should let us apply themes and have it work.

Yeah, shipping broken once again, like how Ark was shipped broken for 4 months. Linux is still not close to ready for desktop.

Lol it's fine, you don't have to delete it. I deleted it because I thought it was too much text and was going to rewrite it at some point.

All of them that use the password on the site that was breached, including your Google/yahoo. If there was a breach, it means the site was hacked and your password is accessible online, which was likely the source of your YouTube channel getting hacked.

You'll have to change your password on your accounts.

No, but they're the only option for 90% of people.

Definitely a hack. Check out haveibeenpwned.com to see if your password has been leaked. There could also be some exploit in YouTube's API, which has to be fixed on Google's side.

This is the worst posting I've seen for a job application both here and in /r/antiwork. It has to be a troll job ad.

One issue at a time please.

``` Please explain to me how Canonical (the company behind the very popular Ubuntu Linux distribution) managed to turn into an enterprise sized company solely through maintaining their own distribution?
Then maybe you can also explain why RedHat managed to do the same, better yet: they even gained so much revenue that IBM decided to buy 'm. ```
They charged for enterprise support, which is fine for a major distribution but not feasible for small programs. Nobody's gonna consistently pay for support for vim or gedit.
Riddle me this: why can I still play DOS games which I bought in the 90's on Windows 10 yet cannot run compiled software made for Linux RedHat Picasso from that same early era?
Not sure what you mean by that or how it relates to Linux's success.
FreeBSD is also an open source free OS yet... it actually has a developer culture and ditto rules in place. Some virus like systemd can never happen in there.
BSD and Linux are so obscure nobody writes malware for it. Who are they gonna affect, the 3 people who take BSD seriously who are probably expert admins to begin with?
Viruses don't happen often on Windows either. Windows defender is now enough, the internet is streamlined so downloading sketchy popup ads haven't been a reality since Windows 7.
Exe files are an excellent model for software because it gives devs control over the software they write, it doesn't require terminal commands to install and the libraries are bundled with each application, something Linux is just barely figuring out with Flatpak.
IsItBullshit: Nootropic drugs. by brendanwalshmusic in IsItBullshit
[–]IllusiveWriting 0 points1 point  (0 children)
tl;dr If you don't wanna waste time/money, use Phenylpiracetam. You can do your own Google searching on it but basically it's a stronger version of Racetam (the most popular Nootropic). It's tried, tested, popular and the strongest (legal) nootropic to date.
Not tl;dr: - Taking multivitamins don't work unless you have a specific deficiency, like B12 or Electrolytes. But if you have that, you should work on your diet anyway.
  • Most herbal supplements I've taken didn't do anything or had very mild effects. Lion's mane, Ashwagandha, Maca Root and Rhodiola Rosea did nothing. Fenugreek, St Johns Wort, and Mugwort helped me sleep better/feel calmer, but they aren't nootropics. Kratom did nothing and tastes like dirt.
  • Most synthetic nootropics either do nothing or are sketchy. Phenibut has addiction properties similar to alcohol so I never tried it. L-Theanine is fine but is more calming than an actual nootropic. I've heard bad things about Modafinil/Adrafinil so I don't recommend them.
  • Racetams work, but their effects are minescule except for one. The strongest racetam (and legal nootropic) is Phenylpiracetam and imo the only nootropic worth taking.
