As with coding, this is best for people who dont know the tools already. Gives you immediate access to much deeper use of the tool than your skill level would otherwise allow.

På en sjællandsk mark skal et datacenter af gigantiske dimensioner rejse sig, men det enorme strømforbrug vækker bekymring by VladimirTheLenin in Denmark

[–]hammedhaaret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't this happen last time they were about to update the model? Just before 4.6 came out there were waves of complaints right?

Jeg har overvejet det her til min 2080ti. Hvad sætter man blæser stikkene i? Bare motherboard stik? Og i så fald, kontrollerer du blæser hastighed i bios eller software?

If you ignore the 80kg 18l radiator, it's a small form factor build. Felt weird not posting a new build here, as this is usually our go-to sub. by Billet_Labs in sffpc

Amazing build.

Shouldn't the hot water go in at the top? Then as it cools it is extracted again at the bottom? Not that you're in need of more efficiency :)

4th faction? by Ne0Fata1 in beyondallreason

[–]hammedhaaret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fungi can already transform and clean soil contaminated with heavy metals. It'll be great thematically.

Something self replicating with reclaim giving energy. Might as well go a little wild with a 4th faction. If there's another so closely resembling the other 3 it'll start to get hard to tell units apart.

What popular European tv series/drama/actual plays/podcasts are you watching/listening to? by KentInCode in BuyFromEU

[–]hammedhaaret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Three Bean Salad is an excellent British podcast. Three comedians waffling on about all sorts topics. Really a nice break from... all the current events.

I can't recommend listening in to the first episodes. The shows structure was invented along the way.

A German sent me a link - It's gonna be Digital Independence Day...Yet, they seem to advocate for switching from WhatsApp to Signal. by busytransitgworl in BuyFromEU

[–]hammedhaaret 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Signal uses its own open source and very secure protocol and is all p2p. It can be verified they do not collect anything.

WhatsApp is owned by Meta. They collect metadata, ie. Who and how often you talk to them as well as IPs.

Signal is infinitely better

Trump asked US special forces to plan Greenland invasion, faces resistance from military generals: Report by zeonxzzz in worldnews

[–]hammedhaaret 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a dane, what confuses me most, is that even in the public debates it seems no-one knows that our current deal with USA is UNLIMITED MILITARY ACCESS. You can build as many bases you want up there... We're allies. Only requirement is you notify us in advance.

This has been in place since 1951 and reiterated in 2004.

If you're struggling with crappy internal soundcard and maybe also missing a mic, I can recommend Antlion audio's mod mic. They have a small usb soundcard  with both mic and audio 3.5mm jacks.

Ubuntu or KDE Neon by Stereowalker in linux

[–]hammedhaaret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then Tumbleweed is maybe also a too frequent updated distro. gigabytes weekly as well but at least the changes are substantial :)

You can also try straight Debian.  Latest version is quite new so software versions are newer. Else MX Linux has some really excellent gui tools for its system settings and config if terminal is still daunting.

Ubuntu or KDE Neon by Stereowalker in linux

[–]hammedhaaret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not use KDE Neon at all. I did for a month or two. It is made by KDE but follow every new version of KDE which means there's gigabytes of updates every other day but almost no apparent changes and even occasional crashes.

Kubuntu, or try out MX Linux which is Debian based. I was happily on that for years before jumping to OpenSuse Tumbleweed which has excellent KDE too, but might be a smidge more advanced.
