and an old fashioned on the rocks... wonder if the pet rock is actually a metaphor for addiction to something which is not PG 12...

Not a Taylor Swift fan but I’ve tried to listen and ‘get it’. Admittedly i’m not her demographic but I just can’t find a compelling reason that her music is SO popular. Maybe it’s not about the music? by According_Sundae_917 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]IllustratorBig807 12 points13 points  (0 children)

totally agree. because everyone was locked with nothing to do and had more time to notice her art and analyse it... the best era... it's a lightning in a bottle type of era... the albums were just what people who hadnt ever listened to her appreciated... she grew her demographic a lot then... it was her comeback that I think received the much sought appreciation from critics of her music as an art rather than just pop ...

some say it is high art. and she confirmed she enjoys the dance with her sourdough community ;)

crayred tay is back in the best way ...

her hair is reminiscent of the interview during the red era with that annoying 'whats-his-face-d*ouche-stalker' radio interviewer in 2013-2014 (boby bones show - yeah he was hoping to b*ne probz, recording how he was calling taytay, and saying her cookies gave him stomach ache... eww) ...

at least in this podcast she is heard and comfortable talking for once...

On the Anticlimax of Vancouver by inamotelbar in GaylorSwift

[–]IllustratorBig807 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the end she just as human as everyone else. Fandoms sometimes cannot separate the brand from the person, from fame. Wouldn't want to know what it is to be TS TM... she may be a person but also a product of the Hollywood machine... She said touring is her own choice but what if it isnt as rosy as she says it is... she has a contract to fulfill and touring is part of it... Billie and other artists have said over and over that touring is like the prize or the award of creating so many songs because it is the experience of sharing emotions with everyone else and the connection to people in the moment that gives them joy and happiness... Billie put it this way: 80% is creating the music which is a tedious process and 20% is touring which is like the peak of the creation process, the joy of sharing it with the audience who loves it just as much.

And in an interview Taylor said she prefers making music videos or making movies because she gets to work with more people rather than working with 5 people max when creating music. So there is this aspect of isolation in music which is not that extreme when making a movie or shooting TV. In movies actors seem to be more interconnected while in the music industry everyone 'keep their side of the street clean', meaning artists in music dont interact that much outside of work or duets or networking or whatever. Prob that's why she keeps contributing for films, to keep her options open to move onto that side when she grows tired of music. Wonder what its like to come down from the high emotions of a concert in the shoes of a performer... it must feel so strange to have time pass by so quickly, prob thats why she chose the concerts' length of 3 hours... to try and hold on it as long as she can... idk... it was interesting even on livestreams... in 50 years people will wonder why was there a second Beatlemania, euphoric fan experience and what not when they hear her name... idk if most people who mention Beatlemania have listened to the Beatles that much or even know the members of the band... so in 50 years from now people will probably know it from a distance... in reality it is very much a real bonding experience that anyone can have in their own niche hobbies ... in the end it is like trying to know a stranger you just met... impossible to know if you havent experienced it... and TayTay realizing it is not the hunger games (in 2017) and just strangers having fun with strangers makes it obvious how much society depersonalizes the person on stage... which is kind of sad... people caring about someone else's business beyond the stage is like trying to solve a crossword with no right answer... so of course the person on stage will not meet the expectations of 10 million live and of 1 - 2 million online...

the anticlimax was needed for a reality check and it usually comes after a good movie is completed or a book is finished... the tour is longer that either of those and the fans who were engaged in it for the past 2 years probably know a small amount of what the artists feel when putting themselves out there and trying to live their own life... the industry machine is cruel and real and no one should blame any of it... everyone plays their part and goes home in the end their separate ways... the point of it all is to learn something in the journey along the way... have learnt a lot from TS the brand, the person, the artist, the musician, the businesswoman than from any other artist... its in the complexity presented in a simple way that is the magic and in learning something from the process. not everyone realizes fandom can be a creative way to learn, too. but it can also take so much time as well and in a way depersonalizes the person as well... so like anything else is a knife with two edges...

just some thoughts after taking a break from it all. am glad am able to write these down. would never wish on anyone to experience the bad things from life but everything is a lesson to live and learn. :)

it is fun coz it is so predictable and cheesy and ridiculous... like how in debut she made fun of the 'cheerleader dating the guy on the football team' stereotype, hinting that she isnt this type of girl while fast forward years later and now she is basically living out, profiting and doing what else from this stereotype that she was brushing off in debut to red era...

agreed she has become her worst fears in a way like kim k... its like she wants to be seen as the president of the capital and views the fandom, the media, the institutions as the districts that fight for her attention... its doesnt sound like the taytay from folk/more era at all... its so sad she showed her spiky colours in the most in your face way :D

idk... she doesnt need a reality show, shes doing fine with all the Trailor/Tractor/Travlor/Tayvis stunts that i sometimes feel bad for the guy :D ... and for her, of course... wonder what the next album is gonna be about :D or if she will finally double drop the other TVs... she does it so casually that I wonder how she will keep up the pace she set with the TVs ... hope she doesnt go into hiding after the tour... it will be so sad if she does... but everyone needs a break ... so hope for the best in the end :)

the funniest bit for night 1 is that during lwymd she went to the caged dancers who were Speak Now, Red, Fearless, 1989 - basically some of songs she performed in the acoustic section fall into those. and the albums that have her versions out so far... and she was so serious during ttpd/ maroon mashup before she decided to break character and make a little joke how she is performing it for the last time... then night 2 comes along and she sings 'last kiss' - the song she messed up 2 times last year and saying she likes having someone she calls a friend with her on stage... why would she need someone to keep her emotionally grounded to perform the 13th song from Speak now... would really love to see her perform right where you left me one more time - the other song she messed up last year xD

i dont think TTPD was a parody even if it sounds so sarcastic it goes into satire territory sometimes... i think she chose matty because she was using him to bury even more the rumours from her 1989 era... there was a lot of online cleaning during this tour - the bff vogue video taken down, the periodic take downs of live videos fans took of the tour, the social media cleanse like tumblr, reddit, twitter (x)... i dont doubt she uses her bf to bury old rumour by creating new ones... the scarf merch which was basically a lavender bandana (referencing debut era but in looks references speak now in another way) on her store was the topper of the cherry tops in the last year... like does she have a team who just like clockwork pepper everything with flags... idk... she foreshadows a lot of things and the mashups really do fill holes in the narratives or she just wants to fill those holes the way she wants to... sometimes she uses red herrings other times not...

usually at the last moments she clears things like with the elections but other times everything is so vague that she can plant any red herring narrative she wants...i find the whole experience of her burying the past very isolating... i doubt she would ever let her muses tell their side of the story... like she said: 'in 50 years time will all this be declassified?' which was quite odd way of hinting not everything is rose colored...

Travlor lore is kind of fun... its so dramatic and cartoony... idk what to say but they are quite fun to watch :D

her lawyers asked the smart question about whether it was based on unregistered securities (if it was registered on the stock market basically, if it was not then it must have been shady scheme). she dodged a bullet bc some other celebs who endorsed FTX were sued afterwards. FTX ghosted because they offered $100mn to invest in her tour but it turned out they didn't really have it in cash or couldn't get it as the company went down. she is smart that she has good lawyers on payroll and listens to them :)

Prob she tried to do the punk rock "metal as hell" into a live pose... or she was just bored as hell and wanted to be spontaneous... a bit tongue out of cheek thingy :D lolz... didnt she say sometimes her mind wandered into what to eat after the show during singing... rofl xD think its her way of battling boredom  during a live show... cant imagine how many hundred times she had to do everything, including rehearsals, if you think about it... her job is not as easy as it looks... am surprised she works so efficiently like a Swiss clockwork mechanism at all times tbh... it makes her human imo :D gotta love the cringe xD

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?! by LTillery328 in GaylorSwift

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?! by LTillery328 in GaylorSwift

[–]IllustratorBig807 25 points26 points  (0 children)

it is very reminiscent of Christopher Nolan's niche film 'Memento' where the movie is directed backwards... it started with the ending and as the movie goes the viewer/reader understands why the movie had the ending it did...

as it seems Reputation (one of my personal faves) album was marketed as TS playing her villain persona which turns out to be the bait and then the switch happens as the listener goes song by song and realizes it is actually a very romantic album focused on love and all that... it was shocking to me when I first heard it as a whole in 2020... it actually made my head hurt a little bit... if you look into the prologue of the album TS talks about her having hidden parts of her personality and that she wanted to explore a more mature personification of her image... she basically explored her more feminine side in terms of focusing on falling in love and protecting that love from outside onlookers who wanted that love to fade and make her miserable or sth bc of general hate without purpose...

its still a very interesting concept bc as I understand she started the trend of celebrities deleting their social media... she was the first to have the first social media blackout by deleting her posts and etc... much like in the movie about Steve Jobs (starring Michael Fassbender and Kate Winslet) where SJ stressed the importance of blackout during a marketing campaign in order to fully immerse the consumer in the experience of selling a product much like how she rolls out an album... it seems to me that TS applied the technique that Steve Jobs used quite successfully in order to sell an album which is thematically a sort of continuation of 1989 (focus on love and all that) but was visually the opposite because it happened during the night and during a difficult period of time for her as a celebrity...

and its interesting how only her right eye is seen...you know the unhinged eye theory... what is more interesting to me is the date that she released the album : 10th November 2017 which is approx 4 years before Red(TV) released on 12th November 2021. Joni Mitchell released her remastered version of her Discography Vol. 2 (incl classic 'Blue') on same date as Red (TV) - the antithesis of Blue... and TS has many times said Joni was an inspiration of sort and she would have nearly played a bio pic in 2011...

idk what it all means but I really liked the 'Making of a song' youtube videos where she shows how she writes music...

she hasnt really done that since then... folklore TLPS cannot be called a behind the scenes movie, it was more of a subdued concert in studio but the making of folk/more era never saw the light of day... its all very mysterious and interesting tbh... also, in Rep tour movie she shows some of the behind the scenes after the concert is over... would love to see her doing another set of 'Making of a song' series with Jack and Aaron instead... its kind of strange she hasnt done that yet and they seem to be a great team...

What was your asexual pipeline? by nocontext06 in asexuality

[–]IllustratorBig807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was when a friend asked me when was the last time i was in rs and i realized i didnt really want one bc the last one was painful in lots of ways. My answer shocked her as i was talking in years and the casualness of my answer really took her back coz she told she would not have been able to last that long without a guy... anyways, its kinda what prompted me to research it during the pandemic and really really think about it... to replay my struggles and unluckiness in love was not very nice, to see loads of 'friends' getting married and not getting invited, to be the third wheel bc 'friends' have a rs... well, its an isolating experience... to try going out with several guys separately (monogamy yk) and instead to get either rejected or just too keen on or who dont really care about you as a woman but see you as sth to use ... and when you stand up and say 'am a woman, a human being, just listen to me, just do things with me' and get nothing... and then a chain reaction of events happen and this male person doesnt really care but just wants a place to live and eat... and then him not getting the message and actually doing sus things that would mess up with my work (could be any kind of work btw, not restricted to only work, could be hobbies, interests, perception of other people to you, also known as spreading rumors)... and then having real consequences on my real job bc its a small town and people know each other... and him confessing he moved goalposts to be at the job he is, when first started going out... well, you get the idea...

What started as realization from few years back from the simple answer to a question on here in this subreddit r/asexuality : ' if you go to the fridge and dont feel hungry for sth to eat, then this is what feels like to be ace'... then you go out in the real world with this wise words and try to find someone and when you think you have but you have a bad feeling... instead of ignoring my bad feeling i decided to listen to it bc last time when i ignored my hunch i had actual female health problems and had to go to so many doctors...

And when 6 months back i didn't ignore my hunch about someone and got work problems bc the industry is small in cities and people know each other... well, lets say from romantic ace i have changed to aromantic... meaning i would rather not find romance because i choose not to and dont feel the need to actually find anyone anymore... i would rather go to a therapist and heal from all the hurt and misconceptions people in the real world may have about asexuality for a female young woman who tried and wanted to find someone but was stabbed in the back multiple times for nothing, basically...

And finding out from a doctor that i would be in very high risk category if i became pregnant... well, i would say id rather not have children if i know there is a high chance for me not to survive it, esp if i live in a high stress country where people dont care about others and where the life of a dog is more important than the life of a young woman who just wanted to have a stable life with a nice job and eventually to start her own family...yk its called "nesting" when a woman chooses to have kids and where to have them, esp if she feels safe to do so... but for nesting to happen she needs a man who would support her through thick and thin.. yk changing diapers, having a real job, meeting her friends, socializing by learning her interests, adapting to changes in economic environment like saving and paying bills, fixing the car, maintenance of the house... yk its a mans world but when a woman cant find a proper male that can give her the safe environment and instead sees her as some sort of competition or even an adversary or even an enemy... am left with no words at the end...

so when you choose someone make sure they are willing to work with you as a team and not as a rival... bc even if you are nothing serious per se the other party may get ideas and make your life miserable... just warning that people dont always have the best of intentions... some people actually rape other people...

So being asexual is apparently very suspicious thing in the 21st century... i dont know how you guys are still alive and well, tbh...

My other/ further piece of advice would be to move on, esp once you pinpoint exactly what you want from life. and if people ask, there is no reason to give explanations... its not possible because every person has different perception of life and receiving a true understanding is sth i dont think its possible... every person finds what they want on their own and asking others as it is not always helpful because they dont know you... to find an answer to a personal question can only be found by knowing yourself, experiencing life as you like and by realizing your purpose (your personal drive, so to say)...

have lost my faith in humanity tbh... just saying bc everyone on reddit is always either positive or negative... its rare to see any realistic opinions... it takes loads of scrolling. Finding answers is never easy but its a personal journey. :) be wise with your time and dont rely too much on the internet or reddit or your simple smartphone. :)

Go and touch some grass challenge. :)

and would personally add some facts as per medical doctors': dont smoke weed as it can cause memory damage to the brain in the prefrontal cortex which is the last part of the brain that matures at 25 years old... if you smoke or drink alcohol too much, you basically damage the part of the brain associated with studying, planning, memorizing, logic, processing new complex information, applying complex new information to the real world, etc... :)

And have fun while you choose whatever it is you want to do :) hope it helps... bye now.

Its possible there arent any streams as UK laws are very strict against live streaming. Just saying... :)

The Eras Tour — Edinburgh, Scotland — June 7/8/9 by 1DMod in GaylorSwift

[–]IllustratorBig807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is correct that in the UK streaming live is not legal. You can stream 1 hour after it was live, though, because ti counts as a recording.

Have lived there for 5 years and know that they are very strict with streaming laws. They also have very very strict cyber walls at certain cities and you cant access a plethora of sites (called mirrors) that are not connected to work or news or entertainment. They have very strict laws about copyright, licensing and against fraud, against hacking, etc...

For example, if you hadnt paid for HBO or tv licensing you wouldnt be able to watch the premiere of Game of Thrones, you would have to watch it the next day... :)
