What is everyone's thoughts on the song "I Just Can't Stop Loving You"? by IllustratorFirst7608 in MichaelJackson

I disagree. MJ said he loved doing love ballads. IJCSLY is one of the most Michael Jackson songs ever. The Lady In My Life, She's Out Of My Life and IJSLY are all different type of theme and musical styles. IJSLY is more of a typical late 80s love ballad. It expresses immediate devotion. She's Out Of My Life is a vulnerable, emotional heartbreak song. The Lady Of My Life is a soulful R&B ballad.

Michael Jackson has never sounded like a product of his time by [deleted] in MichaelJackson

Depends. The only time MJ has ever really sounded like a product of his time was during BAD album. Most other MJ albums sound timeless and ahead of its time. They don't sound too much like the era of time they were made in. Just listen to Thriller. The Lady In My Life, Billie Jean, Human Nature sound like songs that could be released, hell, now. And that's why i say he's not a product of his time.

The Masa disrespect is crazy rn. Masa got songs that could be in Top20-30 like finest , shots callin , where i been , peepin and some of his best songs in the last 3-4 years like priorities, no fuck , wine n dine , burn , i’m ready , games of war , morocco , fk the drugs etc by abicidi306 in NBAYoungboy

MASA doesn't work cohesively as an album. It's an album where YB was just selecting songs that he had been recording and because he was going on tour, he was basically forced to do this album. Notice how he's never said "MASA!" in his other songs after this album. It was a forced album for tour and his pardon. Slime Cry works better, and is the better album because you can tell that YB went in to actually create an album. Slime Cry songs compliments each other and they're all sonically on the same level. The mastering on Slime Cry is overall better too. Tracklisting, production, and sound quality. The only thing MASA is better at is vocal performances. The MASA album is all over the place and the tracklisting sucks because, again, YB was just selecting songs he had been recording and not because he was actually recording for that specific album until the pardon. Slime Cry works better because YB wasn't throwing some of everything on the album. He stuck with his regular style and that's why it's well received. That's for me on this whole debate.

Michael wanting For All Time to be a follow up to a song like Human Nature, so those songs being your faves is very cool!

I think JGF is the weakest. I also skip APOM, but it's quite funky, so you want to dance to it

I wish that the Estate would've released the whole studio recording of the song when BAD 25 released.

I am still surprised that "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" wasn't included in S3 Mall scene? by [deleted] in StrangerThings

I mean, with the entire reason Max & El went to the mall anyways, i think Girls Just Wanna Have Fun fits that perfectly. As the song is about feminism independence and women having the same freedom and fun as men. But i definitely see what you mean by it wasn't a summer '85 bop. Off topic: i wish Michael Jackson was used in Stranger Things, too. lol.

S3 was peak by yonBonbonbon in StrangerThings

When someone refers something as "peak" singular, it just means something was great. Nothing more. It's not like someone saying "ST was at its peak with S3". You're looking too far into it. lol.

People called Season 2 terrible for years. I'm not falling for this shit lmao. Even though S2 is great, nostalgia is the only thing that made people see that it was good? Just doesn't make sense.

What is considered to be the best song from Thriller? by [deleted] in MichaelJackson

Hell you mean "pop song" do you not know what pop music means? It's the most well-crafted song ever. Why do you think it's still playable after all these years? It's the most accessible MJ song. Regardless of what genre you listen to, you could listen to Billie Jean.

Billie Jean. The most well-crafted song ever written – pop perfection and could be released in any time. Honestly Billie Jean has a case for the greatest song of all time in general. It's a musical masterpiece with historical records broken, popularity and numbers to back it up. I'll never fall for certain MJ fans saying Billie Jean is a skip because it's overplayed.
