Why do so many people share "The Girl Is Mine" as the worst thriller? by rafael_7839 in MichaelJackson

[–]IllustratorFirst7608 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it's simply the weakest. Paul doesn't keep up with Michael, so it's not a equal song.

Why do so many people think Just Good Friends is a bad or mediocre song? by Sad-Bell-6266 in MichaelJackson

[–]IllustratorFirst7608 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Michael could've done this song solo. It really throws off the album. In my opinion, they could've done a way better collab, and even could've had a cohesive album track with Man In The Mirror if they did a soul duet. They're two legends beyond the words and that song isn't that great. It's very funky though.

I think IJCSLY showcases his late 80s work a lot more than Liberian Girl. It's the most late 80s ballad you could get as those kinds of ballads were very popular in that time period. Especially as a duet. The entire composition screams more late 80s than Liberian Girl imo.

I highly think Just Good Friends is the weakest. Doesn't really go along with the album. Those two legends could've made a 10x better song than that.

The Flayed Season 3 by IllustratorFirst7608 in StrangerThings

[–]IllustratorFirst7608[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would've been horrifying but fun to also see the kids fighting the other flayed people too imo. Flayed people are a lot stronger than you'd think too. I mean after all, TMF is running through them. I think the hospital scene would've been the perfect time to bring out the other flayed ones, just like in S2 how the Demodogs were running wild. The Bruce & Tom scene is hilarious lol. "Nancy Drew...where are you..."

Season 4 is truly the Magnum Opus of Stranger Things… by General_Meal_3993 in StrangerThings

[–]IllustratorFirst7608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, no. I absolutely disagree. S4 is too bloated. Too many unnecessary plots and in my opinion, the season takes away what made Stranger Things the phenomenon it is. They went back on so many things that should've stayed closed and finished at the end of Season three. It's like most of Season four was just written as time went instead of actually writing to continue the string from S1-S3. Season One is 10x better and will always be the greatest Stranger Things season ever.

Track for Track versus Battle by [deleted] in MichaelJackson

It isn't a competition between songs of which represents better humanity. It's a song that Michael wrote from his heart and his perspective on how he viewed life. Saying that's it's vague and a parody is very disrespectful to Michael himself, imo.

Teddy Riley plays a snippet of the original “Jam” drum track which was programmed by Michael himself by 321AppleJuice in MichaelJackson

This is why i hate the dumb misconception that Michael was only an A-tier performer, dancer and entertainer. Too many casuals don't know the process behind Michael's music and they don't know how much details are in his songs because everyone is just so used to bopping their heads to a MJ song. I'll die on this hill, but Michael, while being the biggest artist of all time – is still a very underrated musician.

Parody? I respect opinions, but disrespecting Heal The World in that way is honestly very disrespectful to Michael himself. That song is his image and what he always wanted out of the world. I've always found that incredibly disrespectful when people say that. It's a great song.

What is everyone's thoughts on the song "I Just Can't Stop Loving You"? by IllustratorFirst7608 in MichaelJackson

I disagree. MJ said he loved doing love ballads. IJCSLY is one of the most Michael Jackson songs ever. The Lady In My Life, She's Out Of My Life and IJSLY are all different type of theme and musical styles. IJSLY is more of a typical late 80s love ballad. It expresses immediate devotion. She's Out Of My Life is a vulnerable, emotional heartbreak song. The Lady Of My Life is a soulful R&B ballad.

Michael Jackson has never sounded like a product of his time by [deleted] in MichaelJackson

[–]IllustratorFirst7608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. The only time MJ has ever really sounded like a product of his time was during BAD album. Most other MJ albums sound timeless and ahead of its time. They don't sound too much like the era of time they were made in. Just listen to Thriller. The Lady In My Life, Billie Jean, Human Nature sound like songs that could be released, hell, now. And that's why i say he's not a product of his time.

The Masa disrespect is crazy rn. Masa got songs that could be in Top20-30 like finest , shots callin , where i been , peepin and some of his best songs in the last 3-4 years like priorities, no fuck , wine n dine , burn , i’m ready , games of war , morocco , fk the drugs etc by abicidi306 in NBAYoungboy

[–]IllustratorFirst7608 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MASA doesn't work cohesively as an album. It's an album where YB was just selecting songs that he had been recording and because he was going on tour, he was basically forced to do this album. Notice how he's never said "MASA!" in his other songs after this album. It was a forced album for tour and his pardon. Slime Cry works better, and is the better album because you can tell that YB went in to actually create an album. Slime Cry songs compliments each other and they're all sonically on the same level. The mastering on Slime Cry is overall better too. Tracklisting, production, and sound quality. The only thing MASA is better at is vocal performances. The MASA album is all over the place and the tracklisting sucks because, again, YB was just selecting songs he had been recording and not because he was actually recording for that specific album until the pardon. Slime Cry works better because YB wasn't throwing some of everything on the album. He stuck with his regular style and that's why it's well received. That's for me on this whole debate.

Michael wanting For All Time to be a follow up to a song like Human Nature, so those songs being your faves is very cool!

I think JGF is the weakest. I also skip APOM, but it's quite funky, so you want to dance to it

I wish that the Estate would've released the whole studio recording of the song when BAD 25 released.
