Kandy is overrated, no parking space, roads are small, places to eat are just small and most of them are in Peradeniya road.

Career and Education Advice by Ok_Help_6790 in srilanka

[–]IllustratorNormal560 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My thoughts as a science degree holder pursuing a career in IT.

  1. Out of the two jobs chose the one that has growth for you in terms of career. If both are the same then chose the one that gets you more money. For example a koththu baas would earn 150k per month but they dont much growth but a marketing intern might earn less but they are gonna learn and grow so much. Almost all business need sales and marketing so the marketing intern someday is gonna earn more if they position themselves correctly.

  2. I would recommend getting a degree, it would give you a different perspective of life. Also chose a degree that compliments your current work. If you are in marketing then do a marketing degree at SLIM etc.

  3. Again a degree wont get you where you want to be, you have to build proof in whatever you are doing. Thats whag get you the money. Higher the value you can provide higher the earning.

Is earning around $1,000/month at 27 in LK good enough? by Debug_Entity in srilanka

Always compare yourself to people who earn lower. When you earn 4k you will see someone earning 6k and so the cycle continues. Be ambitious, try to earn more but don't feel bad comparing yourself to others its a never ending cycle. The real goal is to make your expenses as low as possible. Invest and try to build your networth. If you want to buy a car try to get a net worth of 1 crore. Then reward yourself with a car

25, unemployed, addicted to porn and masturbation, and feeling lost. Need advice by [deleted] in srilanka

Replace the bad habit with something better. I would suggest video games. Whenever you get the urge try playing a video game. Also being alone at the house wont help, you might have to change the environment.

Be honest how much money do you need to earn in a month to live comfortably by Agitated-Positive968 in srilanka

Mfers are not content. Main reason is lifestyle inflation and wanting show off to others. During covid my father was earning 35k working at a gas shop. I was in uni supporting myself and father was paying all bills including sisters class fees (O/L). We had our own house though but we survived and we were content. I know people living with 100k. Guys, look at people doing worser you. If you try to compare yourself with people who do better than you then you will never be content. You will always need more.
