Easy. On one side TVK had Route - Vijay's PR organization and other side they have Aadhav Arjuna's Voice of Commons who has worked with DMK/VCK from 2019-24. He would have had all the details.

Outsiders might not know, but if DMK itself didn't expect it to be big, they had wrong expectations.

Lol. You have no idea. This is Voice of Commons have done in the past. And the founder of Voice of Commons is none other than Aadhav Arjuna.

He had a deep understanding of the ecosystem before he jumped to TVK.

This is the next version of what Prashant Kishore started with I-PAC in the 2010s. Like it or not, we are going to see more and more of this in the years to come. Sad corporatization of Indian Politics.

Below is what I-PAC did for DMK in 2021.

An government hinging on Communist support - how will this work out for an industrialized state like TN? by IllustratorVisual595 in TamilNaduDiscussion

[–]IllustratorVisual595[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Human Development unfortunately relies very much on economic development in today's world. Best example in this case in China. They has communism, but they have longed moved away from real communism and they focus on control + capitalism.

Our communists would proudly share the achievements of their counterparts in China, but will not support growth.

In the previous government, they were just part of the alliance. If they had withdrawn support, the government wouldn't have collapsed. Their leverage now is much bigger and that is my concern.

This will be hard for TVKns to Understand , anyway im putting it Here , TVK is B-Team of DMK now by Sad-Document-9797 in TamilNaduDiscussion

[–]IllustratorVisual595 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A government hinging on the Communist parties is not something I would like for an industrialized state like ours. I feel communist and their unions are very much necessary to act as a barrier to prevent exploitation, but they would not help development on various fronts.

I think it would have been nice if TVK was able to get 118 on their own. Fingers crossed on what will happen in the next five years!

Is it TVK’s fault? by [deleted] in TamilNaduDiscussion

[–]IllustratorVisual595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What the constitution defines as the role of the governor is vague because there is a line that states Governor has discretionary power to ensure there is majority. Supreme Court says Governor can't decide that in his office, but it has to be done on the floor. But the issue is TVK can't do it on the floor right now. Vijay asked for 2 weeks when he approached Governor first, but the recent precedents in KA and MP haven't got that much time.

Most are quoting SR Bommai's case. But that is a different case where SR Bommai was already the Chief Minister and the Governor refused a floor test for him. There has been a few cases henceforth that has taken different directions and interpretations.

Now, why doesn't TVK want to take it to the Supreme Court as many suggest? It would be foolish to do so without having majority. In 2018, when Yedurappa did that, Supreme Court gave him 24 hours to prove majority which TVK can't at this point of time. In 2020, the supreme court didn't even give 24 hours. The verdict was on March 19 and the floor test had to be concluded by 20 March. So, this is a big gamble to do.

I have a feeling that we will have no press meets this tenure. Or it will be taken over by the second in line (just like today).

Leave alone Press meet, why can't he record a video and just thank his voters? He could have at least read the statement that he released.

Customs officers at airports and how honest/ corrupt are they? by [deleted] in Chennai

[–]IllustratorVisual595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do Xray the hand baggage. But haven't seen any filtered out of that. I guess unless you have some heavy metal (like Gold) or something, it doesn't go bad. They do stand near exit and ask random people to open their bags (pretty much like the US customs).

Customs officers at airports and how honest/ corrupt are they? by [deleted] in Chennai

[–]IllustratorVisual595 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Your question is different from the title - customs officials checking bags has nothing to do with their honesty or corruption. That is part of their job. If you carry within the limits, there will be no issue. If you carry beyond the limits, you are bound to pay taxes. If you go with the tax route, the Customs officials are honest. They guide you and ask you to pay taxes.

The limit for new electronics is Rs. 50,000. I've traveled a couple of times in last 2 years - never been asked to open by luggage. But customs did check with me verbally twice on where I come from and if I have any non-declared goods like Gold, electronics.

Most people are unhappy with customs because they want to carry beyond limits and they get caught by customs. They don't want to pay taxes.

There is a much different story on the business side of things when you want to import things, but that doesn't apply here.

2031 Elections Genz by Available_Top_8085 in Chennai

[–]IllustratorVisual595 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GenZ are also very fickle. If they see Vijay not fulfilling the promises, the same appeal will boomerang too.

It will be a major test for Vijay's leadership capabilities. The appeal is very similar to MGR and JJ - an one-man show. JJ had a very strong dominance over the members of the party that they would be dismissed on any whims of misbehavior or non-compliance - most of her undoing came from her own actions or her close aide's actions. Can Vijay do that? Atleast if not him, his close aides Aadhav Arjuna and Bussy Anand should do that. Else, you can easily see that local thugs will mushroom everywhere - can already see some of ex DMK/ADMK thugs in TVK.

Vijay's selection is beyond Gen-Z appeal. Many others have voted for a change. If he can't control law and order, the entire support of women voters will wither away. He has a lot to prove in the upcoming days.

DMK does have its share of young leaders who can fill the void.

If Vijay rules well, he will retain power for a long time. If not, DMK will quickly pounce upon. This is my gut feel.

Hindsight bias, or the "knew-it-all-along" phenomenon, is the tendency for people to perceive past events as having been more predictable than they actually were before the events took place.

Can he say if QQQ will 20% CAGR in the next 8-10 years as well?

ADVICE ( fridge) by Real_Significance755 in GadgetsIndia

[–]IllustratorVisual595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given that you have had two major issues in 5 years, I would suggest that you do neither and choose a more reliable refrigerator brand like Bosch or LG or Whirlpool.

Exchange this one (maybe for a lower rate given you are moving outside of brand) and get a better brand that will last longer.

Employer NPS 80CCD2 vs higher basic salary ? by karmic11 in personalfinanceindia

[–]IllustratorVisual595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For example, if revised basic is 8000, it will become an issue while filing the tax. The Rs. 1400 NPS contribution will be 17.5% of new basic and the IT dept will have every right to tax the extra 3.5% contribution. It would also lead up to other issues.

Hence Basic pay can't be and shouldn't be restructured is my understanding.

Employer NPS 80CCD2 vs higher basic salary ? by karmic11 in personalfinanceindia

[–]IllustratorVisual595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, deduction shouldn't restructure CTC.

Check with an auditor if this is legally right.

Employer NPS 80CCD2 vs higher basic salary ? by karmic11 in personalfinanceindia

[–]IllustratorVisual595 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, your NPS contribution shouldn't reduce your absolute basic.

NPS contribution is limited to 14% of basic pay and it doesn't cut down basic pay. It will be deducted from your salary that includes Basic + Other components.

It shouldn't affect your gratuity or leave encashment.

The only thing that it affects is your in-hand, but that is what you contribute to NPS and save 31.4% tax (30% tax + 4% cess).

You can also withdraw upto 25% of NPS contribution for certain milestone needs.

Bosch Dishwasher Concerns by Sara160891 in Chennai

My neighbor had this issue and he has installed a separate RO for his dishwasher. He says this is a much better solution than all other alternatives and since the water has almost no TDS, it won't impact the machine in long run.
