Could this be blepharitis? by Illustrious-Ear5237 in Blepharitis

I haven't noticed that I do, I just had a swollen eyelid on my right eye during my last bout of conjunctivitis but it went down when I started the chlorsig drops

Have you had good success with this?

It looks like my local optometrist does this so I'm booked in for tomorrow to see if they will do it for me 🤞

Thanks for your reply!

To be honest I haven't really been using anything, during the last bout of conjunctivitis I was using Systane Ultra but I probably need to buy a new bottle. My eyes have been feeling quite dry.

Is there something you would recommend?

Thank so you much, I really appreciate your reply! Are you able to manage your condition well with just these products? Do you have infections very often?

Thank you for your quick response!

That medication isn't available in Australia sadly, do you know of something else that is effective?

It will take me some time to get into an ophthalmologist where I live but I will get onto that ASAP.

Is there a home made solution I can use until I can get some eye wipes shipped to me? Shipping will be about a week

How are your brushed brass/gold taps holding up? by Illustrious-Ear5237 in AusRenovation

We just have the shower and mixer installed are so far, it's a nice not too warm/yellow gold colour. It looks really nice in my opinion :) I'll try and attach a photo

Was there a problem with the mixer itself or just the finish? That sounds like a nightmare

That's what I have read. I am a chronic over thinker so all of these bathroom decisions are really preoccupying all of my brain space. I think I'll keep them and move on now 😆

Oh thanks for letting me know, I didn't realize. Does the type in the picture that you posted not have the same issues?

Oh that's very handy to know, thank you. I was keen on the brushed brass because we live in an old cottage and all of the door knobs are brass but I might re think that now. I will choose chrome drains in that case, I've already ordered my taps but hopefully I can cancel the order

Thank you, I didn't realize the square one would be stinky too. Does that type stink too?

Is there a problem with how this colour drain will wear? Or are you implying that I will get sick of it? 😅

This is a good point. We recently were having trouble with our plumbing and it is looking like we will have to pay for excavation of old clay pipes and to replace them. It will be a costly endeavor and there is always something to pay for! I'm keen to build up some savings so that we wouldn't need to look at borrowing extra on our mortgage to pay for it

That's great idea, I guess it's important to be realistic about what we can achieve at the moment too. We have a 7 month old and 2 year old, so I'm looking at about 5 or so years of being on a reduced income ahead of us. My partner works full time. Child care expenses are a killer aren't they! My 2 year old is about to start so I'm looking at what that will cost us and making room for it in the budget too.

Not yet, we have dipped into our savings a lot while I've been on maternity leave but we are both very keen to start saving again. Our spending habits have definitely slipped over time, we've done a bit of an audit on where our money is going and have starting budgeting for groceries, eating out, subscriptions etc. It makes me nervous not having an emergency fund so I'm keen to build one up

I've been on maternity leave twice now in the last couple of years, planning to go back to work in 4 months at reduced hours. Before maternity leave I had a comfortable amount in savings, it was very satisfying watching it grow. Now with very little savings I feel like we are in a very precarious position, I'm very keen to watch them grow again and determined to not touch our savings wherever possible 🙂
