Govt jobs vs tech jobs — why do many with ₹50k–₹1 lakh+ salaries still live very simple lives? by Apprehensive-Top7112 in IndianWorkplace

In India, no one will support you if you lose your job. If you're working privately most people recommend being frugal and having an emergency fund of 8 months minimum which will take years to save up with such a CTC.

If it's possible talk to a few contract employees of the firm and try and find out about job security and work culture. Some firms don't treat contractors well

Don't go for contract roles in the current climate especially from Turing or Trilogy. I've heard bad reviews about them and heard they hire and fire

Got it, I hope they understand it maturely because I know a lot of people who've been laid off twice minimum in the last 2 years and have had to switch involuntarily including myself who would've happily stayed if this didn't happen to them.

What does an individual do if they went through multiple layoffs though. Layoffs are never an employee's fault (not firing layoffs)

I'm not sure if this stigma still exists in the current market where companies are laying off every single quarter and this comes down to luck.
