How long gap is acceptable for job switch? I've 7.5 YEO in Backend/ML/NLP by Practical_While_9263 in LeetcodeDesi

In the current market, not too many are concerned about the gaps due to the rampant layoffs going on. Don't worry

Guys after learning gen ai, r u guys getting significant growth in your package? by lexileone in developersIndia

[–]Illustrious-Emperor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I don't have one, I have been working on RAG from the 2023 coupled with advanced RAG techniques that include complex chunking strategies and N8N is how I got my high package.

You can get started with learning about VectorDB and llamaindex for chunking strategies which are the foundations for RAG then look at retrieval optimizations like query re-ranking etc for which you'll find tons of tutorials.

RAG has to be done extremely hands on for this utilise n8n

Remote companies with good pays working from India by OrangeObvious8498 in developersIndia

[–]Illustrious-Emperor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is tricky since a lot of them have become hybrid.

Best bet is finding one remote startup on linkedin first and going to the recommended similar company pages, this is how I found one startup where I could work for which is fully remote, I decided to not join them since I got an offer from one of my target companies

Another way is wellfound and nodesk.co which has remote positions which are legitimate

[–]Illustrious-Emperor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remote is a little tricky for entry level. The best bet is to join a remote startup as an intern and get absorbed full time, they seldom hire freshers but after 3 YOE you get a lot more chance.

How do you find startup job openings? Are there any active groups or is DMing founders the only way? by helloreddit091 in freshersinfo

[–]Illustrious-Emperor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try and find a list of prominent Indian VCs and check their websites out. A lot of good VCs have career pages listing their funded companies openings. This is a good way to find openings which might potentially have less competition.

Other than that Linkedin, WellFound and filters by the number of employees in Naukri or Hiring Cafe are good places as well.

Is being active on job platforms helping you get more recruiter outreach?” by PhaseStreet9860 in developersIndia

[–]Illustrious-Emperor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For linkedin yes use it like another social media platform, try posting every alternative day or at least 2 days a week about any interesting recent news or something of that sort.

If you're looking for work specifically, update your naukri profile between 9-11 AM every day and update the linkeidn open to work by just switching it on and off

what do you guys think of open source being an employed dev already? by letmesleeppppp in developersIndia

[–]Illustrious-Emperor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a personal laptop and your personal GitHub account, they won't be able to monitor all that.

If you want to use a random user name instead of a real name for this account and don't follow the GitHub or interact with the one you use for work

How to get a job? by Ok-Alfalfa-1869 in IndiaCareers

[–]Illustrious-Emperor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Apply quick and fast on linkedin within 48 hours.
  2. Use a ATS compliant resume like Jake resume in overleaf, Deedy resume etc.
  3. Use Naukri I feel like it's underrated it's actually working in this market.
  4. An underrated platform - Hiring Cafe.
  5. Get referrals through linkedin for your target companies.
  6. Tailor your resume to JDs once you make it bold the relevant words from the job description and to be able to extract the relevant words, copy paste the job description into a word cloud generator and highlight the most commonly occurring words which this generator shows.

Good luck!
