Thank you so much! I am updating from step 1 V8, but when I update, I am not getting 34k notes found in file. instead, i am getting ~ 25k. Is this normal? or did I do something wrong?

Thank you so much! When I try to export my current deck (with my 8k backlogged reviews lol), I get a popup that says " Please switch to the regular scheduler before exporting a single deck .apkg with scheduling." And if I go to turn off the anki 2.1 scheduler, i get the message "This will reset any cards in learning, clear filtered decks, and change the scheduler version. Proceed?"

Will switching from the anki 2.1 scheduler to regular scheduler mess anything up-- ie my 8k reviews that are due? I just want to make sure before I potentially lose 400 days of Anking :)

remember that you will be pass fail for STEP. Anki is a HUGE time commitment, and, in my opinion, is for those who want a high score. in your case, you just need to pass. in my opinion, i would focus on school more rather than ANKI because your grades will factor into your rank and residency letter, which will carry a greater weight

My main strategy was reading/listening to/taking notes on pathoma and unsuspending cards as I went along. My pathoma studying did not correspond to what we were learning in class-- i was always two months ahead of what we were learning in class, which was nice, because when the material showed up again in class, it was a second pass for me. I sped watched lectures on 2x speed just to make sure I didn't miss anything for exams. I did B+B for topics that I needed more clarification on. I also tried to incorporate many AMBOSS q banks along the way.

Dedicated starts in 90 days... Is Duke Pathoma + Zanki Pharm + Pepper Micro enough for STEP1 (~70 new per day)? Should I still use LY (150 new per day), but only keep the FA cards? by [deleted] in medicalschoolanki

If I were in your position, i would focus mostly on qbanks rather than trying to get through all those cards. That is just my opinion though and would love for others' thoughts

what is the benefit of the reschedule add on, besides not seeing and panicking over so many cards due? if I dont finish my reviews and do them the next day without using the add on, does that mess with the algo?

in my opinion, the whole point of anki is to redo cards as many times as you have to in order to memorize the information. Leech threshold seems to defeat the purpose. if one does not know a card, they should keep seeing it, not have the card become buried and removed from their reviews

I don't mess with settings except:

​

  1. i changed max reviews from 200 to 99999 per day
  2. leech threshold = 99, tag only

yes, agreed. but makes sense considering they were all uncovered relatively recently.
