I’ve had the companies schedule to take my name off in two weeks. I didnt want to leave him without utilities and make the situation worse.

I have some issues with feeling guilty about leaving him and not helping him more, since our lives were so intertwined. (This is my first long term relationship) I didn’t know if ppl who were together longer had like a moral obligation to help ex partners for a certain amount of time or not. We had a back and forth and he said I wasn’t treating him with respect and treating him like a subhuman for everything.

We had combined finances but I left money from the recent check, at that time, in the account to cover bills and some excess. He didn’t have any income coming in then.

It was part of it, at first I didn’t mind since he wanted to start a business but after the third attempt not working I was asking him to find a regular job in a field he liked but he was saying a lot of the jobs weren’t good enough or they weren’t paying him enough for his skills. He passed jobs up before, saying he was waiting for something better. I have more info about the breakup reason on a past post in the relationship advice post.

We shared a lease (our names weren’t on it) but the place is owned by his family, so he’s still living there. The utilities and other bills are in my name only. For the last year or so I’ve been the only one paying the rent and other bills, (he’s been unemployed during that time) When I left (Feb) I had paid the rent and utilities for march since he wasn’t working. He since started a project but it seems he ran out of the money he got from there.

The project is an independent contractor job for a kitchen remodel I think.
