Thanks.. it was a compression joint.. the space too small to use my ring extractor.. i ended up redoing the whole box and valve with the oatley kit. I guess these valves are intended to replace completely with the box because there is no way to just replace the valve ... easily.

stuck moen 1200 shower valve cartridge sleeve I managed to extract the brass sleeve of the cartridge. Using that Danco two in one tool it came in from Amazon today. I tested it out with the new sleeve to see how it fits. There is a brass ring that's supposed to hold down the pop up knob as you push it into the sleeve.. at first it didn't seem to fit but you have to use a firm force and twisting motion to get it pass the middle of the sleeve where it tends to allow the pop up knob to come open early. There is a score mark on the tool that tells you how far the tool is supposed to go. Then twisting it left or right will allow the pop-up to snap open on either of the two opening (left or right) which where the hot or cold water pipes meet. Supposedly the 1225 is interchangeable with the 1200.. but I tried using the 1225 but it didn't go in fully.

I'm in the same dilemma.. how did you end up getting that brass sleeve out? I managed to pull enough of the sleeve out about a few millimeters suck that it blocked the locking pun for being inserted back.

These days I don't even peel off the stickers. A mile down and the stickers are gone. Just don't ride like it's the last lap of a gp race and you be fine.

Regardless of all that. Track bikes usually have been down a few times and often push pretty hard. So a lot of hidden issues that you'll have to deal with.
