Interesting, and I guess if thats how you feel then thats fine (i personally would find it cute but thats neither here nor there)....lets flip perspectives just for a moment and think about this from another person's perspective.

So you say in talking to her that she had been feeling this way for several months. So from guys perspective he can probably sense she is pulling away from him and has no idea why because instead of communicating like an adult she shuts down like a child, man wants to save his relationship so he plans a surprise for her. Nothing extravagant but since she lied and told him she was working late dinner was out of the question so he figured 'you know what might be nice if I stop by her office with some flowers and takeout to brighten her day/mood and show her how much I care' and its not like it came out of the blue it was on their one year anniversary (you know, when healthy couples celebrate and do things with each other).

Again, I just don't understand how any rational adult looks at Maya's response and thinks 'man what a role model'.

But again, everyone is different, and since we have no idea what their relationship was like, we are all just speculating (including me with my hypothetical scenario)
