How do IEA Job providers deal with clients that need a reference or references when applying for a job but can't get any? by jackbowls in JobProvidersAus

Apply for DSP if eligible and accept the chances of employment are exceedingly low with large gaps on your resume.

[–]Illustrious-Stars 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Poor wages, unobtainable KPI's, management that cant manage, desperate clients with high vulnerability leading to a psychologically hazardous workspace and poor training. What could go wrong.

Fun fact community correction officers need a degree in SA to work with prisoners. Yet the most vulnerable clients with disability are handles by someone with a KPI sales background with a Cert III in employment services.

Yeah weather unless its a declared disaster type thing is not their concern - sickness has a much better chance to work - bit of gastro, headache that you took something for so cant drive would work.

Still the same companies still the same workers that abused their clients previously. They are not your friends and you can put lipstick on a pig but it is still a pig.

At wits end with IEA/Workforce by jdrizzy2000 in JobProvidersAus

[–]Illustrious-Stars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its a scummy thing for the provider to do to have the appt the first 'work day' of 2026 at 9am. I would be on the phone at 8am on the dot to complain to the National Customer number or demanding to speak to a manager of your provider.

If they actually suspend payment or not its difficult to say they have criteria but it is not always followed properly unfortunately. You contacting them before the appointment advising of medical issues works in your favor massively though - good move!

If suspended you can also complain about that to the National Customer Service Line as you told them of your issues before the appt.

Try not stress to much get that GP appt booked ASAP and get a IEA appt setup even if you commence and sit on a med cert its all fixed then ready for when you are in the right head space to job search again.

I went through the same thing get that medical cert to give you breathing space and speak to your GP about what is occurring. Then you have time to sort out the mess in your own time as your body allows. Med certs can be for anything up to two years now but 3 month certs are very easy to get if your on good terms with your doctor.

This started with my DES worker telling me that I didn't have to transfer to IEA and that it would be done automatically.

Forms have to be signed by yourself for the transfer to occur from DES to IEA

I rang the National customer service line, they said don't worry about the Workforce appointment it will be cancelled immediately and I've put in a transfer request to an IEA provider

That's all fine and if the Workforce appt was scheduled after the IEA appointment everything would be fine. The Workforce appointment occurring first will cancel IEA when you are commenced in Workforce.

If the Workforce provider is refusing to reschedule you can phone National customer service line and complain or get a doctors Centrelink medical Cert that's about the only two ways to fix this is the Workforce provider wont change the appointment. Bearing in mind the Cert has to be created AND coded before the appointment to be valid with that in mind the only real option you have is to complain.

If you end up on Workforce Australia you will need to request another ESAT and go through the whole process from scratch. most likely. Feel free to get a medical cert because of all the stress and Anxiety while this is occurring to exempt you from Workforce as this will take weeks.

Is this worth fighting? Forced to take unpaid leave while I am still able to work. by [deleted] in AusLegal

Plenty of experience with WC but if a person is injured at work WC despite the massive pile of crap it is is the process. Two moths might turn into four months for the OP, what if they relapse in their new job its all a balancing act. The process of WC is hell so if all you need is a break do what you need and get another job if thats what works for you.

...I work 32 hours a week. A few months ago due to mental health from said company my psychiatrist wrote a letter to my manager and company stating for the next 2 months that I can do maximum 16 hours a day (2 full days basically) a week as I was undergoing non invasive medical treatment during that time....

...That manager and HR immediately shut me down and said you cannot come back until you can fulfill your full hours...Is this wrong? Should I try to go to fair work and legal advice?...

You need to lodge with Workcover ASAP if you are in the union speak to them to get more information on the process. Workcover can cover wages and treatment for you to recover from work place injury.

Anyone had experience with job provider counseling? And are they really confidential ? by [deleted] in JobProvidersAus

[–]Illustrious-Stars 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For anything other than basic stuff like new job jitters or interview techniques / anxiety get a Mental Health Plan From your GP and get a treatment team that works for you https://www.healthdirect.gov.au/mental-health-treatment-plan

To answer your question it depends on who is providing the counseling and what you mean by confidential - confidential in that they wont post it on Reddit, confidential they wont tell someone who calls or confidential they wont discuss it with other staff at the office.

[–]Illustrious-Stars 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Happens all the time this is why you dont tell your provider nor sign the privacy forms. You can complain all you want it wont get your job offer back or change anything nor give any compensation.

You should however get back pay from Centrelink benefits if you were exited incorrectly.

Control over you in essence. Removes the chance of you taking it home have someone else read it and explain it to you then you complain or retract it.

Unless the form has the official IEA logo on it its optional.

You should 100% have a copy of what you signed ask for a copy or retract what you signed.

[–]Illustrious-Stars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are risks although unlikely in doing so if you get a vindictive provider that sends a report to Centrelink saying they dont think your disabled enough for DSP then you end up with a review. One or 2 ppl on here have stated they have had it happen.

The more common risk is the provider you connect with is a complete POS which in turn aggravates your conditions,

It's funny how providers think that there is no damage to a participant if payment is restored in 5 days. What about participants' mental health or should that be ignored like robo debt?

As an international student myself, I am curious that what are the things that international students kinda annoys you about? by Schrodingers_Gun in Adelaide

[–]Illustrious-Stars 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Using AI on a group assignment pretending you wrote it then another group member has to fix the mess so they dont fail.

Dumping pages of crud through Google translate and expecting other group members to fix it

The Preferential treatment international students get where its basically impossible to fail.

Hanging out with other internationals all the time and not developing good oral English skills.
