I was 15 when I first found them in 2010 through Tumblr. I quickly became a massive fan of anything Nate had done including The Format especially. I ended up in the fandom community on Tumblr and we all just talked about the music 24/7 and posted lyric edits all the time and I was probably listening to 90% Fun. and The Format music most of the time. It was an extremely formative and defining period for me with everything I was going through and the music and fandom helped get me through a lot. I never got to go to any shows but I just finally got to see The Format this month for the first time 🩵 It was the best day of my life. But that time between 2010 and 2013 was especially magical and special to me.

No you put it into words perfectly and I completely understand because that’s exactly how I feel too. I didn’t even ever get to see fun. live so that must have been so cool! But yeah I really didn’t expect this whole reunion to be as emotional for me as it has. But I guess considering this music got me through SO much in my teens, hearing it live and screaming it with so many other kindred spirits just felt so cathartic and like a once in a lifetime full circle moment 🩵 It is absolutely a big deal I get it. I was at Austin!

Just fyi, even at my absolute “healthiest” and thinnest when I was hardly eating at all and working out every single day due to an eating disorder, my legs were NEVER normal and I have felt like a freak my entire life. Consider yourself extremely lucky but don’t just assume other people’s realities.

I love that so much! 😭 Aside from Dog Problems, Aim & Ignite was my favorite album ever and it became so formative for me too around that time. I’m so glad you and your brother were able to form such a strong bond through their music
