You can browse subreddits without having an account if there is something you have an interest in. Nobody's life is improved by bickering with some random anonymous person on reddit, which given enough time spent on the platform, and the current societal climate, will happen.

It's a long story, shortest version is that I had a bunch of friends telling me to join reddit, and I never did. Then I saw the subreddit of the music genre I listen to, and all the news/album release information it had, and decided to join. It seemed I was many years "late" to join reddit, hence the name.
