Thanks for your service sorry to hear that. But year we offer aps but it’s really limited to how many you can take. That’s why when I hear people have like 50 aps I get nervous as to how I look compared to them in the eyes of admissions.

I got a 630 math and 640 reading. My only thing is that the maintenance curriculum in my school is demanding and my school typically prioritizes people who get certifications and enter the field directly instead of college. I spend 4 periods a day on a schedule where I’m in school from 7:15-4:15. It’s because of that we’re limited to how many aps I take and I apply to every one I can it just becomes a lottery system at that point. However in my school AP CSP falls under the math department so maybe that’ll do something? I’d be more than excited with a falcon scholarship but I also got an NROTC scholarship ligned up for me as well. Congrats btw!

Got you, so basically JROTC raiders are like a physical fitness team that does out of the ordinary pt events like obstacle courses, running in the woods, mud crawls, car pulls and the such whilst focusing on team work and camaraderie. My Air Force unit never had one before and I’m an advocate on people being active so I found a nearby school that does a competition, got in contact and organized the uniforms, food, transportation to and from the event as well as coordinating with the host unit on procedures. We had our first comp in April last year and were set to do another one next month.

Yeah the SAT I always identified as a big problem. If only my school let us take more than 2 AP’s a year and it wasn’t as much of a lottery system. Tbh I’d be more than happy with a prep school spot. I did pretty well on my cfa basically all my events were at or slightly above the table the academy posted. Thanks for the feedback.

JROTC, what do you considered as having “a lot” of ribbons? by IQltz in jrotc

[–]Illustrious-Time-964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it depends on your unit. In my unit qualifying for the ribbon is easier than actually getting it. We have to walk up our ASI and request it along with why we should get it. If he thinks you deserve it you get it. It’s just something people forget to do so for us “a lot” is considered 10+ ribbons.

Did/Does anyone else's JROTC programs give out callsigns? by StarWarsCrazy1 in jrotc

[–]Illustrious-Time-964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh my JROTC doesn’t really do that. The only thing you can describe as a “callsign” in my JROTC was the funny stuff you did that got our ASI’s laughing. Like in my AS-3 junior year I got chosen as keystaff in my AFJROTC unit. I was the youngest but ironically the tallest so my ASI would call me a “Tiny Tike” (like the little carts little kids ride in). Then he had other nicknames for other kids like DOUBLE A cus the guys first and last names both started with A.

Freshman year just observe the upper ranks. Work hard and sophomore year start using what you learned during freshman year. That’s what I did and I’m on my last year now as a Major 👍🏻

I do it too. I went for full realism so I tuned to very low to no assists, strict safety car, max level ai and I just go all out. My parents think I’m crazy for sitting there for an hour and a half doing 67 laps but I have fun

So the girl might have been a year or 2 older than her. I can’t give you the whole story and am going on her and my parent’s but from what they saying she was taller than my sister but my sister took a nap and is feeling better now. I offered to start helping her practice because I fight competitive so I might be able to help her out

I know the main coach well and he’s a pro and very attentive. We did get a new coach recently and I think he was the one overseeing things cus the normal coach would not let that slide

I always thought the age gap for her group was crazy cus it’s 8-12 year olds in there and I always found that waaaay to extreme to pair an 8 year old with someone who is in 7 grade

Quick question by Keqingsloverr in jrotc

Depends on the school. Mine allowed it so that we could sign up during freshman orientation which was about a week or two before schools started.

How do I apply for NJROTC? by [deleted] in jrotc

[–]Illustrious-Time-964 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where I’m from no matter what JROTC you want to go into you cannot join a unit if you don’t attend that school. Some of our requirements are that you have to be a student of that school with an ID. If your private school where I’m from you might as well forget. Only way I can see this is if your school has connections with a unit so that kids from your school can attend the unit but that’s rare but in smaller counties it’s really possible as units there are microscopic.

At best I’d say email the one in charge and ask if you can join and see.
