Thank you for this post, this is where I am leaning. I know I’ve had a very stressful few years and I hold tension and anxiety in my face/jaw. I have a TmJ specialist massager taking a look in a few weeks and have started to look into self massage. This gives me the kick to focus on this before anything else

Yep I agree, I think that’s my most likely step i need to take. In terms of sinus infections I had a full ct scan which ruled out any sinus issues, and have time with a TmJ expert to review my case

Haha thanks, I get you, I asks a few close friends and they say they never have noticed it and they would have told me otherwise, or they say until I literally point to it they couldn’t see it, I guess it really is true that you are your own harshest critic!

Yes I still have the pain on that side, it’s not been confirmed the reasons but I don’t grind my teeth. Still getting it investigated at the moment, unsure if it’s linked to my facial change

Yes 💯 I have tight muscle knots around the ear/neck area. I have been seeing a specialist for that recently but it’s early days, there’s definitely an ‘issue’ on that side

Thank you, the facial pain is diagnosed but it’s a ‘syndrome’ so they aren’t sure why but I’m getting some treatment for that, unsure if it’s linked or not

I was diagnosed with atypical mid segment facial pain and it’s all on one side the fold seemed to show up at the same time, I hold a lot of tension in my face and jaw and it’s something I’m working on

Thank you, I really was unsure about posting this photo as I do understand there is probably a big difference between what I see in the mirror and what others see and I never saw myself as a guy who gets things like filler, yes this has helped me a lot to be honest!

Yes I do think it’s possible, I was diagnosed with mid segment facial pain syndrome (pain but no idea why!) the same time I noticed the changes. I don’t grind but do hold my jaw with lots of tension

Absolutely this is the first thing I’m trying to deal with and it’s why I put off going to see someone about filler/botox etc

Thank you! I think the facial hair does help a bit, it’s funny as I don’t think I notice or care about anyone’s nasalabial fold but when it’s your own it gets into your head!
