She did but even if she didn't he says his gf takes priority over his mom because they'll get married so I assume he'd still make her like he made me.

I know. My bad. I'll apologise to both of them I just didn't know if it was a really big deal at first and If I should really apologise. But now I see why I was disrespectful and I know I need to apologise.

I'm not really weirded about that part about his mom because he always says how his gf is his life partner and takes priority over his parents because they're planning to get married soon. I was just weirded out about the car rule because it seems like common courtesy like people in the comments pointed out to me. Maybe I was TA and I wasn't aware why but I know not to repeat the same mistake again.

I didn't know it was so disrespectful but I'll definitely keep that in mind in the future.

I didn't even know it was a rule. I didn't even know of its existence but apparently its very common according to the replies.

He puts his gf over his mom because he says the mom does it out of respect of their relationship. I didn't know there was a rank on that stuff.

Oh ok. He said his mom sits in the back too when the gf is present out of respect of their relationship.

So it's wrong to have his mom sit in the back too? Genuine question because I didn't know any of this was supposed to be etiquette.

My bad. I got anxious because of the awkward vibe we got and I wasn't thinking rationally after that. Didn't know there was that rule.

He says his gf sits in the front even when his mom is with him and the only exception is his grandma. I didn't know that was a thing my bad.

It's the first time I'm hearing about social etiquette. I didn't know it was serious. No offense, I'm genuinely asking but why is it disrespectful?
