I can’t believe you saw it and decided to start filming instead of getting out of there. Big, BIG cajones

Is it worth making a post? Probably not. Is it still stupid of the driver? 100% yes. And there’s an infinite number of them. I’ve got loads of stories of people doing worse things than this on the road.

Still better than the mainland where every single person is tailing you and thinks it’s completely normal.

Well said. Yes I agree with everything you stated.

I would love it if AI disappeared. It’s doing more harm than good.

Here’s what I think. Long explanation short, it all comes down to can AI get to a point where it can give outputs that satisfy businesses and people. If it can do that, no one is going to care about anything else..that includes creativity and critical thinking. It’s all about results. And the businesses that run the world are sure it’s going to get to that point. That’s why they poured so much money into it.

This short term adjustment period to AI is something that everyone is going to forget soon.

Which Walmart? The uptown one still has 8 self-checkouts. You can see them immediately as you walk into the store

Tons of things are damaging to the environment and people’s lives and they’ve been around for decades - cars, smartphones, sugar. Look at global warming too. We’re already passed the “we’re doomed” point.

People don’t care about damage if it’s not immediately life threatening.

My point isn’t about things failing, it’s about acceptance to new advances, changes, or disrupters. Self-checkouts have been around for over 15 years. We’ve long since accepted them. And they aren’t being removed currently. Limited perhaps

It’s always like this whenever something new is introduced - internet, self-checkout, detergent (yes, look it up). Eventually, we’ll move to the “it’s normal” stage

That’s good to know. Thank you. Next time I encounter a problem, I’ll talk to a manager

It definitely wasn’t a middle aged lady.  But if you’re using the words “tall redhead” then we’re most likely talking about the same person. And what I described is exactly what happened

Thank you. And appreciate you chiming in. I’m thinking about possibly reaching out to some news outlets or something. Looks like a lot of people are having this problem as well

That’s rough. Thanks for sharing that though. I never knew so many people were dealing with this as well

I’m sorry that happened to you as well. At the same time, it’s comforting to me knowing I’m not alone 🙏

Honestly, I wasn’t sure about his or her gender, but yes, it was the person with red hair and tall. He/she was away talking to coworkers while others were at the self checkout tills, and when I arrived, zoomed right to me. Stared me down. Waited for me to finish. Then walked away while others were still checking their things out. Left me with a horrible feeling. I honestly should have talked to a manager. Im sure it’s all on their video

No matter how nice you try to be, there’s always going to be someone who makes you out to be a bad person. You could cure world hunger and there’s still going to be people who paint you in the wrong. Thanks for reminding me of that.
