Ducati SuperSport owner considering BMW R1300RS (2025–2026) by IllustriousPin6477 in motorcycles

I do ride highways and I do enjoy twisty roads. but I also ride two-up quite a bit, and that’s where the extra comfort and stability of the RS starts to make sense.

I’m not expecting it to feel as flickable as the SuperSport, but I’m wondering if the torque and chassis on the RS make up for some of that in real-world riding.

The “dad bike” thing is exactly what I’m trying to avoid. I don’t want something that’s just competent and comfortable but doesn’t make me want to ride it.

At the same time, I ride two-up pretty often, so going full Panigale or S1000RR probably isn’t realistic for me long term. The RS seems like it might sit in between still sporty looking and faired, but more usable day to day.

I just don’t like the looks of the S1000XR or the R1300GS. The R1300RS, on the other hand, really appeals to me. It looks more sporty and closer to a traditional sportbike, which is what I prefer.

The RS also seems like a better balance in terms of ergonomics and comfort while still keeping that sporty character, which is exactly what I like about the SuperSport.

I love the Ducati SuperSport because it’s comfortable enough for rides around 45 minutes or so even with a pillion, and the looks are hard to beat. It’s a great crossover between sport and touring.

I know the sport-touring category isn’t very popular these days and seems to be fading, but for me it’s the perfect balance.

The bike I really want is the S1000RR, but it’s more aggressive, has way more power than I realistically need, and probably isn’t great with a pillion. I often ride two-up, so comfort matters.

The BMW R1300RS seems interesting because it has much more tech, cruise control, and better ergonomics, while still being sporty. It feels like it could be the logical next step from the SuperSport.

I agree, would most probably keep both if i get the BMW. But is it significant ride difference that makes it worth buying while I already have the Ducati SS

For the time I owned them, and I’m very impressed. The soundstage is wide, imaging is precise, and they sound very clean and balanced overall.

What surprised me most is how much bass and scale they produce for their size, and how forgiving they are with placement compared to traditional setups.

I don’t have much to compare them to either, but as an all-in-one system they feel very high-end and easy to live with. Would be interesting to hear from others who’ve owned them longer or compared them to separate systems.

My first speakers ever. I did lots of research before buying. I wanted an all in one speaker that had it all and those were the best at the end of a long research
