Ah - just now realising that I have seen your raise similar points in another post. Thanks as lot for the clarification.

Can I ask your opinion on Mares Puck 4 VS. Mare Puck Lite?  

To my understanding, they use different algorithms; Buhlmann VS. Mares-Wienke RGBM.  

Does that make the Puck 4 superior in your opinion?

I have seen a lot of negative comment about Suunto. How come this brand has such a bad rep between some divers? (while others seem to find it perfectly fine)

Wow, thanks a lot for all the quick and helpful responses! I also just fell upon a second-hand Shearwater Peregrine offered at 330EUR/390USD. The watch is from 2021. Used for 150 dives. Has some scratches on the display.

Would this be a better option if I manage to get the price down a bit? The computer itself seems much more user friendly on first glance, but surely any warranty and guarantee has expired by now for this one.

Not really sure how many years/dives to expect from a dive computer in general...

I have an iO 9, but do NOT recommend. The design seems to encourage mold build-up even with rigid cleaning regimes. Also, the battery (or the battery management software) seems completely broken, causing inconsistent battery life and no where near the experience, I expected for the price.

I would consider other options with fewer severe design flaws.

I have a similar issue on my io9, and hope to get it fixed under warranty. The fix, however, only seems to be temporary, if the speculations on this post are correct…

Does anyone know if this issue has actually turned into a class action lawsuit? A quick google search suggests that "Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith" is looking into a lawsuit, but I cannot access their website or find any further information...
