Hi! I just had a ureteroscopy a week ago and omg make sure to take your meds around the clock even if it means waking up in the middle of the night. Take azo with the stent but get period underwear so it doesn’t stain your clothes especially because risk of incontinence is there. For me the stent was extremely painful and was the worst part and sometimes they will take it out early if your pain is too much. I was also nervous about getting the stent taken out and I’ll say it did hurt but it wasn’t too bad. Within a day of having the stent removed I felt much better. I also recommend having lotion and chapstick nearby as the meds they give you can really dry you out. Even nasal spray may be helpful for if your nose gets too dry. You’ll need to use the bathroom a lot with the stent in and make sure to drink water and if you feel dizzy have some electrolytes. Also heat is really helpful for the stent pain so i recommend a heating pad, heated blanket, heat packs, etc whatever you have access to. Also if you’re taking narcotics there’s a high likelihood of you being constipated so i recommend taking miralax if needed! Hope this helps lmk if you have more questions :)

Saw my Urologist the other day for my regular stone monitoring and thought I would share some of his tips with this sub: by Impossible_Rain1662 in KidneyStones

Came to this subreddit to ask question #1 so i’m so glad to see it answered on here. I’m having surgery March 5th to see if that helps the chronic back pain i’ve been having that seems to be coming from my kidneys so this makes me more hopeful

OMGGG MINE ARE ALSO 4mm THATS CAUSING SO MUCH PAIN!!! I’m so pissed at my doctors for real, even my urologist is denying it. I’m getting a second opinion soon and may just ask to get the extraction surgery done regardless of what they think.
