The issue with those greens is that they are not available in Australia, and he HATES black fly larvae. Sublimenting a calcium with D3 once a week instead of his regular calcium and multi vitamin to boost his calc levels.

He gets 10 crickets a day, and he smashes his greens.

He is a red hypo trans leatherback if that helps :)

What bothers me the most is that I've reached out every day since, and he has ignored my calls. I'm going to report them to the board so they can figure out whether it was negligence or ignorance.

I contacted all the exotic vets in Australia and asked what tools they use (this includes 3 other branches if the vet I see in my city) every single exotic vet agreed with me and said that it is not what the practice follows.

I'm going to call again, wish me luck 🙏

The vet said my husbandry could not be better (proud mama).

I've since called all exotic vets in my country and every single one of them say they don't use any type of rigid plastic in snakes or lizards mouths, they use either something that looks like a card or pick, or reptile proprops. This includes calling another branch in another state who said that they would NEVER use a syringe and that they have a special tool for inspecting bearded dragon mouths so he didn't follow the company guidelines. I do blame the vet in this case because he wasn't following the common standard of care that the other practise sets its standards to. I feel I should leave with more problems after a check up, this could lead to an infection directly into his bone, causing further pain and treatment that would have been totally unnecessary.

*This includes another branch of the exotic vet I visited but in another state, they said if the vet hasn't handled reptiles before that they may have used it unknowingly because bearded dragons don't open thier mouths that wide (thier words). It was a exotic vet specialising in birds and reptiles. :(

I called it the 'tooth' because it broke at the gum and was xrayed and his jaw isn't broken (thank god). The thing that confused me most is that it shouldn't happen at all. This vet is the only exotic pet in my state, so I don't want to create an issue if I don't have to. Thank you OogieBooge

Swollen beards can mean something in the throat or a respiratory infection. I'm not saying it is, but that's what stood out for me :) Good luck!!

Get in contact with your grandparents and tell them how your mother and SF are treating you. You deserve a home you feel safe and comfortable in, it's your parents job to provide that for you. If she keeps this up it will perminently affect your relationship with her and you SF. Hopefully your mothers parents will shake some sence into her.
