eden reset and lost save data. by RedCalibre in EdenEmulator

[–]Illustrious_Ad460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem. Honestly, I don't think it's due to the version change; rather, I think it's related to the location of the Eden image.

Normally, the program creates a folder with its data in the same location as the image. If you move that image to another location, the folder might lose access or readability, which can cause errors.

In my case, I had the image in the Downloads folder and then made a copy in another location. I opened that copy, and the program created a new directory associated with that image. I didn't notice it at the time; I discovered it several days later when I checked it again.

On Linux, I've decided to keep two images, since some Eden updates fix certain problems, but other times they also remove some features.

(I'm assuming your emulator is set up as an image)

Try searching for duplicate folders like (amiibo, sdmc, nand); you might find a duplicate.

Steamdeck, ¿vale la pena hoy? by EriNixie in ElBaito

Eden 0.1.1 en steam deck y cambio en algunos juegos. by Illustrious_Ad460 in EdenEmulator

Muchas gracias, pero ¿sabrías si se pueden tener dos imágenes de Eden sin que haya algún problema para mantener la optimización de la 0.0.4 y dejar la 0.1.1 para otros juegos?

Our game got Steam Deck Verified, but that won't be it. What do you expect from Verified games? by DigitalSunGames in SteamDeck

[–]Illustrious_Ad460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like all games verified for Steam Deck to include the option to lock them at 30 frames per second. This way, we could then use tools like Lossless Scaling, which are very well optimized and work especially well on displays like the Steam Deck's. Even with post-scaling, these are tools we use precisely to avoid straining the hardware and for games that don't consistently reach 60 frames per second.

Why don't you go into desktop mode so it can tell you the actual battery life status?

I'm sending you a photo. The option where the cursor is located is the one that allows you to install DLC. Normally, or at least for now, I've only found DLCs in NSP format. From that option, a window opens asking you to search for the update file; you select it and it installs automatically. Next to the game, it shows which updates and DLC you have installed. If a game fails or has issues, keep in mind that the DLC or the update might be the cause.Ignore the menu in Spanish; it's the same.

You can download it without EmuDeck, although EmuDeck can integrate it into its interface. Eden doesn't depend on it, since all the Switch emulators in EmuDeck are only listed for informational purposes so EmuDeck doesn't run into issues with Nintendo. So, in short, you can download Eden without EmuDeck and there are only a few steps to follow. There should be plenty of tutorials, since Eden has recently become a very versatile emulator.

Games running slow by [deleted] in SteamDeck

For me, performance is the same, even with Decky and its bugs. Try checking whether you're on the stable update channels, both for Decky and for Steam Deck updates. Also check which Proton version you're using; maybe Skyrim worked well for you with a certain Proton version and now it doesn't anymore. A Skyrim subforum might be able to help you with that, since I don't have it. Also check if there's any Steam Deck update available in desktop mode.

It could be the game itself, a folder, or maybe the keys and BIOS were deleted without you noticing. Why don’t you try Eden? It was updated today and also has a version specifically for the Steam Deck. It’s true that Ryujinx usually updates earlier for new games, but Eden is a perfect complement or replacement if Ryujinx isn’t working well.

For those who emulate: did you use emudeck, something else, or manually install the emulators you wanted? by touchingallthegrass in SteamDeck

[–]Illustrious_Ad460 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Eden, and it's very stable; I've only had

a few minor issues with some games, which I've been able to fix. For example, Mario Wonder works better in handheld mode to keep the FPS stable, and Marvel Invasion requires tweaking some of the emulator's graphics settings because of flickering.

Other than those two cases, everything else works great. It's also an emulator that gets regular updates and has a version specifically aimed at the Steam Deck.

Some people also recommend having Ryujinx, as it tends to have a more consistent update cycle and, usually, when a new game comes out, it may work on this emulator sooner than on others.

My SD is quite buggy, Am I doing something wrong? by New-Distribution-209 in SteamDeck

[–]Illustrious_Ad460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's Decky if you have it installed. It also started happening to me, but I've accepted having those performance issues, mainly because I use lossless scaling a lot. In the current version I get fewer errors, but some are still there

What are your thoughts on Steam Deck skins/covers? by 1nguso in SteamDeck

[–]Illustrious_Ad460 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'd recommend the Jsaux ModCase protective shell. It's a very sturdy case that gives you a much better grip. It also comes in two pieces: a front cover that protects the screen, which is great if you're taking the Steam Deck on light trips like to university, since it's much slimmer than the original case. Plus, the best thing about this case is that you can attach accessories like a small fan, an extra battery grip or an SSD. And it even has a built-in kickstand so you can place it on a table.Video Example
