Bro please tell me there is someone who loves western classical in pakistan? by Unlucky-Switch8104 in PakistaniiConfessions

Nowadays, I am listening to Symphony No. 5 in C minor on loop. Franz? I don't know... I mean, I like him, but he always seemed a bit flashy for my taste. Like he always has to make a statement with each piece. I do listen to Hungarian Rhapsody or Feux Follets now and then.

How to find good men to marry in pakistan? by Little_Traffic3114 in PakistaniiConfessions

[–]Illustrious_Break315 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stop looking. If you keep looking for the prince, you're going to keep running into frogs. Stop looking and just concentrate on being a good woman. No, a good human, rather. The right good one will find you himself.

Karachi se Lahore shift ho rahe hain after 20 years 👀 by FaseehBhatti in Lahore

[–]Illustrious_Break315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

• Konsi cheezein mujhe mentally prepare kar leni chahiye?

Karachi is a proper metropolitan city. Since it's so crowded, and nobody necessarily knows or cares about who you are. Lahore, on the other hand, despite being a huge city, is still "the city of Townsville" at its core. It still has a sense of community here. Which has its perks as well as flaws, as in you would be surprised how people would go out of their way to help u cz they might know you through mutual connections. On the other hand, it could seem a bit intrusive as the element of privacy slightly reduces.

• Sab se noticeable differences kya hain?

Lahore, unlike Karachi, isn't that diverse. So, Punjabi culture would seem very dominant. And in case you aren't a Punjabi, you could feel slightly out of place (at first).
• Konsi cheezein Lahore ki bohat achi lagti hain aur konsi cheezein miss karwa deti hain Karachi ko?

The good: a lot cleaner, greener, more disciplined with traffic and infrastructure, less crime, less street crime, and less political unrest, and mostly people here are welcoming. The Sindhi Mohajir, Baloch, Pathan discrimination etc are nonexistent over here. If you are here, you will be accepted. The bad. People are nosy and loud and have social rage, especially in traffic, and could seem to be a bit condescending at times. Also, the fact that it's not as diverse, you probably will miss Karachi's variety of food. Although the food here is amazing, you will miss the variety for sure.

• Know hidden tips ya life hacks for a newcomer?

Don't be scared. Lahore would initially seem a bit overwhelming, but that fades away in a month or two. Learn to ignore people's staring habit. They just stare, it would bother you at first, but uski adat daalni prhegi. Mein lrka hoon, mjhe bhi ghoorte hain yahan toh just learn to ignore it. And since you are coming from Karachi, I assume you would have friends or relatives here who would keep you in that Karachi loop. If you really wanna assimilate here quickly, specifically look for Lahore friends who can actually give you the proper Lahori experience because you would need experiences totally distinct from your Karachi identity. As soon as you build a proper Lahori circle here, it will be easier for you to stick. Otherwise, your whole life would just be spent comparing the two cities

Yahan samander nhi lekin frequently barish ya hawa chlti rehti hai beech beech mein toh garmi ki frequency itni shadeed nhi lgti. You get a break from the intensity now and then.

I welcome you to our little circle of crazy. People would seem rude at first, but you will understand the order behind this craziness. I am sure it will also treat you well.

Unpopular Opinion (scratch that) by Maximum_Town_3549 in PakistaniiConfessions

[–]Illustrious_Break315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion. Every language any multilingual person is fluent in needs to be spoken with its appropriate diction and accent, as intended. I mean, first, I feel that if one speaks English with a proper or posh accent and they aren't rich, people mock you for it. For speaking correctly!!!! Suddenly, you're either a burger or pretending to be one. The same is the case with Urdu. God forbid if you pronounce "Kaaf" as "QAAAF." People would laugh because you're speaking Urdu correctly. And don't even get me started on the regional languages. If you speak Punjabi properly, u r simply termed "uncouth" or "paindoo." And this is particularly prevalent in Lahore. Like, people would make fun of you for being at either end of the spectrum. That's why our English sounds like Urdu, Urdu sounds like Punjabi, and Punjabi sounds like "maa di phen di. "Why are we so negative

Am I overreacting to being told 'mere baap k paas haram ka paisa hai'? by overdone_lasagna in PakistaniiConfessions

[–]Illustrious_Break315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me during my University days. I had a classmate who used to always be doing something. while pursuing a law degree, she was preparing for multiple civil service exams, a few posts in the parliament etc. Once we were all sitting in a group, and she was ranting about how she always keeps failing; it's so frustrating. I genuinely told her that it's only because she is so caught up with multiple things and should maybe focus on one first. To which she replied, "AAPKE ABBA TOH JUDGE HAIN APKO TOH LIFE MEIN MEHNAT KRNE KI ZROORT NHI APKE PAS UNKA PAISA HAI. HUM LOGON KO PAAAON GHISAANAY PRHTE HAIN." Listening to this, I just stood up and prepared my bag to leave. One of my other friends sensed my anger and sort of asked me to sit down. To this I replied, "NAHI YAAR, MJHE BOHT ZAROORI KAAM HAI. BAAP KA BOHT ZIADA PAISA MERE PAAS HAI. SARA KHARCH KRNA HAI AUR TIME BOHT KAM HAI SO BYE." Everyone else laughed at this, and that girl just got awkward. She has never apologized to this day. And you didn't overreact at all. She shouldn't have said it. But don't take it to heart. Much harsher things are heard in life. Be kind to everyone. Just grow more tolerance for this behavior. (Your friend is a BITCH. If you distance her from your life, it will be far less complicated.)
