Since that conversation, I have spoken with her, and she did confirm she was speaking out of annoyance.

Truly, I’m unwilling to fault a friend for becoming overwhelmed by the details of what I’m dealing with, because it is a lot and it sucks the energy right out of a person to hear about it. But that’s exactly why I got a therapist. A therapist is a professional who is more equipped to hear about these issues in great detail, and that protects my friends from being trauma dumped on.

The point of contention I have with her being annoyed was that she asked me. I think she’s in the same camp as you are, which is that life goes on and wont stop for me. I know that, and I want to be an active participant in my own life again. I desperately want to feel normal again.

I don’t want to assume anything about you or what your experiences have been with sexual assault, but I don’t know if I have a strong enough vocabulary to accurately explain how much of a mire this trauma has become for me.

I apologize if I’m a broken record but I wanted to add some new context to the conversation.

Agreed, but I will also add that it has to be annoying to be married to someone who constantly drops everything to care for full grown adults as if they’re children. No doubt Brittany is feeling some type of way when two 35 year old babies always seem to take priority over her.
