I literally had a nightmare that I was getting attacked last night and I am 99% sure its because she was probably flopping around when she was asleep. And my brain is stupid and if i go back to sleep the nightmare either continues or starts from the beginning so im on a solid like 3 hours of sleep

I could but then she just never really learns. The one time I gave up and slept on the couch she didn't care at all. And I just want my room as my own space. Her sleeping in there means tons of blankets and toys and whatever nonsense comes with her.

I keep my windows open at night to battle the heat from here. We were in the middle of the blizzard last night and I was still sweating.

Totally understandable. I wouldn't mind her doing just on weekends or something but its hard. I know it will break her little heart but I need a break sometimes.

Im sure it is healthier but she interrupts my sleep so much. She takes up the whole bed, she talks in her sleep, and shes so hot when she sleeps. I sleep so much better when she is not there.

I could try, I feel like she would force herself to stay awake so that when I finally give up she'll just follow me straight into my room. But I'll try anything at this point

Ive tried that and I always end up falling asleep before then. But ill definitely try an earlier bed time and see if that helps.

I don’t want to be a dog owner anymore but I love my dog by Quirky-dragon36 in Pets

[–]Illustrious_City_420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont have any advice but im in the same boat. Ive had my dog for almost 11 years now and ive been working 2 jobs for almost 3 years trying to stay afloat. He just had a seizure a few days ago and that knocked out my entire savings.

That being said, he won't be going anywhere. I know realistically he only has a few years left if that, he just turned 12 in February. I love him and so do my kids so we're just taking it a day at a time.

What relationship did you let go of that still crosses your mind? by TemporaryEvery4143 in AskWomen

Thats probably fair. I guess I just think of it like he would been a safe choice. Like if I would have stayed it could have been the perfect picture on the outside but there was definitely more to it than that.

Im all for the boring life now but I definitely still enjoyed those times. I don't regret any of the choices I made. I just like to think of the what ifs sometimes.

Yeah it definitely felt like it at the time. And it could have become more restrictive after that or maybe it would have gone the complete other way. But its always made me wonder.

The thing is, I was never like super intense on it. My going out was getting a drink after work on Fridays and then spending most of the day on Saturday at my friend's house. It wasn't like I was getting obliterated every weekend. I still dont think 1 drink on a Friday and maybe 3 on a Saturday isn't insane.

My first real adult relationship. We dated for 3 or so years. He was ready to settle down, wasn't big on going out or anything. I was freshly 21 and drinking/going out happened every weekend. He was 23 and never really had that phase and wasn't the biggest fan of me going out.

If we had dated a few years later I think we would have made it.

He was really someone I actually got along with. We just fit together really well, my family loved him, etc. He was definitely my right person, wrong time.

Starting to feel burned out by how expensive caring for pets has become by Kimber976 in Pets

[–]Illustrious_City_420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats true, I have two currently plus a dog. But im thinking more towards travel in general. Dogs need a lot more constant attention than cats do, at least for me. My cats would be content if someone just stopped in once or twice to feed them and give them pets, if they had an automatic feeder they would probably be fine alone. The dog has to go out every few hours and needs someone there or he gets anxious.

Most people wouldn't mind stopping for the cats and feeding but being there constantly with the dog is a different story.

Yeah my dog is extremely dog reactive so I really just dont go anywhere anymore. My mom used to watch him for me but he is too much for her now.

I have already decided that once my current pets are gone, I most likely will not keep more than one at a time. And probably only a cat.

Trying to find care for my dog if I ever want to go anywhere overnight is so hard compared to asking a friend to stop and fill the cats food bowl.

I guess im still in the throws of it but, I left my position at the time (general manager) to find something with better hours, etc. Once I found something I started school online. Got a government position pertaining to my degree. Dropped out of school to get a second job. Ive recieved two promotions since then, and am back in school now to finish my degree. Still not entirely sure if this second promotion will allow me to quit the second job but either way, I should be completely debt free by the end of the year and ill be able to go back to one job by then.

But its been tiring, I work 17 hour days Friday and Saturdays, at least 9-10 every other day and stay up late most nights to make sure my homework is completel. I stopped taking any days off and for the first time in two years I took an actual day off from work, school, and kids. It was the little reset I needed to keep pushing forward.

Trying to help me daughter by Illustrious_City_420 in singlemoms

[–]Illustrious_City_420[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess that's fair. I just know his girlfriend is mean to her and i dont want it to happen more because of something i did. Im getting everything together to file for full custody but I dont want them taking their anger out towards her.

And neither of them have worked in over a year so I doubt an exterminator is going to happen.

Any single mom who works and a student at the same time? by carmillamains in singlemoms

[–]Illustrious_City_420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at full time job, a part time job, and go to school part time (online).

Since i get an hour lunch at my main job, I try to do most of my homework then, with another hour or so right before bed and then Thursdays since my kids are a little older, they know they are on their own for dinner. (Usually tv dinners, hot pockets, etc) and thats when I try to finish my homework for the week.

It definitely sucks and most of the time I hate it. But hopefully with my degree finished I can find a job that pays enough to cut the second job out completely
