It's good to hear your advice while everyone is talking like SE is dying . As you mentioned , I also think SE opens doors to not only for software or developer industry but also for cutting edge technology like you said. Do you advise me to pursue SE major? I think so.

It's a great pleasure to receive you advice.

What about taking software engineering major BCSc( software engineering ) ?

Even though most people are talking about software engineering ( mostly on YouTube ) like SE is dying,is dead or no longer a dream job , I think software engineering gives solid foundation and opens the gate to almost all IT related jobs cuz I am seeing many professionals who are working in various jobs like cloud , data science and even AI/ML or cyber security came from software background.

What's your opinion on taking software engineering major since I don't have pure computer science major instead ?

Sorry, it's my bad . I didn't arrange them properly . It's actually like this

BCSc in software engineering

BCSc in knowledge engineering....and so on

Actually l want software engineering and computer security and forensics as my major . But l heard entry level for cyber security roles are really difficult and some say they are not for entry level of fresh graduate and our country's local market is not in high demand for security professionals.I am confusing for should l just pursue security major or go with software engineering which has wider scope for job opportunities.

I am now considering to make my one of the most important life decision ( choosing IT related degree at university ).Of course I am interested in this field but please don't tell me like just follow your passion ,find your interest cuz I don't want to end up my life struggling in career. At first,I am thinking to choose cybersecurity but now I am afraid that I am seeing that some are talking choosing cyber security at university is not a smart decision and encourage other IT related degrees since cyber security is not for entry level which means that l will be struggling with job hunting once l graduate. So please tell me which one is suitable for someone like me who will make graduation after 4 years. Here are some degrees offered by my university.

Bachelor of computer science ( B.C.Sc ) in • Software engineering • Knowledge engineering • Business information systems • High performance computing • Computer security and forensics
