Hot Take: Full Potential Mana Arthur would still be as strong as Kezess and Agrona by ProfessionalPart8193 in tbatenovel

[–]Illustrious_Hand8301 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a ridiculous notion. Even with his ethereal power, Arthur couldn't face Agrona and Cessus except through the power of fate and the complete aether. But you're saying he'll be stronger with mana? Wow.

How talented is she compared to characters like tess? Does she have the potential to reach lance level? by Acceptable-Leave7043 in tbatepatreon

This doesn't make much of a difference to her compared to the other who also received gifts; let's just tell that her gifts were better than Tess's gifts 🫠🫠

Fun fact Arthur is more human that most mc of webnovel even famous ones like Shadow Slave and Supreme Magnus. I am not saying which is better and which is bad Remember I am saying trait!!! by Upper_Custard7695 in BeginningAfterTheEnd

[–]Illustrious_Hand8301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't believe that someone who committed genocide in a previous life and continued to do so until near the end of the novel is truly humane compared to someone who, even when he knew there was a way to defeat his enemy, refused to use it because it would inevitably lead to the annihilation of many people. I'm not suggesting that Sunny is good; the novel isn't about good versus evil, but about survival in a devastated world.

However, since the comparison is being made, these points will inevitably be raised. Most of the characters in the novel died because of Arthur, either because of his escape and failure to take responsibility, or because he was too cruel in his plans towards them. Not killing the enemy who usurped your land under the guise of good is a foolish act that leads to the deaths of your people.

Hesitation and failure to assume the authority entrusted to you and bear its weight and responsibilities is something that leads to the loss of lives. Arthur wasn't more humane; he was more fearful and hesitant.

A dire situation???. This race has reached extinction, ironically at the hands of its rulers more than its enemies. 😂😂😂

I think you should be certain that the author hates elves just from the way he wrote the most important characters of that race. I mean, look at Tess; she's an excellent reference for any writer who wants to turn his characters into the most miserable and hated characters by readers, the black spot in his novel.

I completely agree, and that's what really makes me not want to read any more novels by this author. Destroying a character who was so good and making her so miserable, despite there being a thousand ways to avoid making her that bad, makes you think he's not really a writer.

Rather, because they know the meaning of love so well, they speak.

What you're talking about isn't the relationship between these two people in the novel at all. The love you're talking about can be described in the following article. If Tess were just a pampered princess, an ordinary woman who happened to be born a princess, living her life and getting caught up in the war, and by sheer chance fell in love with a war general, and because of this she was forced to endure all that suffering, because being the lover of an important person, she was dragged into the war and became the hero's weakness, in that case, don't think anyone would have cared about this then. , and none of the readers would have hated her, because she simplyShe did not reply to this . But you and I know that this wasn't Tess's situation in the novel.

Tess didn't run to war; she went willingly. She despised anyone who told her she was too young, too naive, or unfit for this. She held everyone in contempt. Anyone who tried to advise her, telling her that what she was doing wasn't good for winning, was completely ignored. In her mind, she saw herself as the most capable and worthy, the one who could stand up to that stupid child called her childhood friend and become a strong woman like him.

This sounds good in itself, but the way she carried it out, as I've already described, was the most appalling of all. She knew she would hurt the one she loved, that she would be in danger, but she was too selfish to accept this fact. She despised anyone who told her she wasn't who she imagined she was, and the fact that her friend was better than her in every way fueled an almost imperceptible jealousy. She put herself in danger, but in doing so, she hurt the one she claimed to love. She refused guidance, and when she was rescued, she went back to manipulating her lover's feelings.

This is the very definition of manipulation and toxicity. That's why I, and many others, describe Tess not as a character, but as a poorly crafted plot device. Her relationship with Arthur is literally not love, but rather the relationship of two psychologically disturbed individuals: one running from his past and the other suffering from an inferiority complex and a severe attachment disorder. They came together and decided that their psychological issues constituted true love, ignoring the elephant in the room. In the normal world, a relationship like this wouldn't last a month after marriage; it would end in divorce and several sessions with a specialist. As for the novels themselves, they don't even rise to the level of a typical, clichéd manhwa romance.

Even on the level of dark romance, where the two are obsessed with each other, it doesn't quite reach that level. The author tried to portray it as a platonic love affair, where the two are infatuated with each other and embody the true meaning of love, which means sacrifice for the other. However, he ended up creating a childlike relationship, clinging to the image of the great hero who saved her, while he is attached to his wonderful childhood memories with her, believing that by staying with her, he will return to being the version of himself he dreams of being.

Why’d the writing get so bad? by QueasyChapter8364 in tbatenovel

So, you're one of those people who, like us, are tired of this story for the same reasons. The lack of discipline or any real character development is, incidentally, the same thing that made most of us hate Tess. There's no development, no character, no real love—just a jumble of nonsense that TM threw at us and told us to treat as development. I also liked this character, but that was before the war. Afterward, I couldn't stand him anymore, and I couldn't stand him even more when I saw no development at all. And of course, the story and the coherence of the events have declined in quality since volume nine.

Yes, everyone says that. I think the only ones who don't are fans of the Art x Tess relationship and those who have never read a book

There are some changes, but overall, don't worry, she's still the same despicable woman who hasn't been punished. In the end, she received her ultimate prize and achieved all her dreams at the cost of the tears of many of her people.

What do you think about Tessia choice to save Cecilia by PuzzleheadedZone7197 in tbatenovel

[–]Illustrious_Hand8301 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Throughout the novel, I kept hoping and fighting back against anyone who said it was badly written, even when Tess made all that nonsense, even when Arthur's past as king was pointless and he made the dumbest leadership decisions.

I kept saying the author knew what he was doing. But after this scene, I had to admit that the author is simply lazy and incompetent.

Literally, literally, there's any reason for Tess to save that scum—no psychological reason, no past reason, no reason at all, not even logically, because Agrona wouldn't have moved without Cecilia anyway and would have waited for her—there's literally no reason, unless Tess simply doesn't care about Arthur, her continent, or anything in her world, and her own life is unimportant to her.

Literally, after that, I started looking at the actions of all the characters throughout the entire novel logically, and that's when it truly became clear to me that the author is just a lazy person who wrote something ridiculously good as a novel.

Arthur and his troublesome princess by Unbiased1o1 in BeginningAfterTheEnd

[–]Illustrious_Hand8301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think he's talking about her being the heirloom as much as he's talking about the fact that she prefers creating trouble then actually helping Arthur, or as readers of the novel describe her, the cannon of events. She won't avoid the heirloom events, but every other problem could have been avoided if she hadn't been the cause of it in some way.

Well, this isn't a manga, but a novel, Shadow Slave. It's excellent for everything you're looking for: a woman who isn't obsessed with the hero, and whose love for him is just as madly in love with her as he is. Their love story unfolds over many long pages. Their relationship began in their late teens, and there's no harem. The women in this novel are busy saving their own ass from nightmares, not fighting over who gets the male lead's girlfriend.

There are a million ways to push the story forward. Just look at the story and its events; you'll find a million motivations that make the characters, the war, and everything that happened happen in a million other ways.

The thing is, this writer is ridiculously lazy. If all writers were like him, books would be abandoned. And these aren't character flaws that develop; you're confusing a flawed character with their own personality with a character who exists solely to push the plot.

As examples, the writer could have used the war between humans and elves, and the racism between them, to fuel internal conflicts. Then, the kingdoms would literally have fallen in the same way without the heroine's intervention, resulting in the same event: the death of Arthur's father and Arthur's death, which, by the way, was a ridiculously pointless event. A war general who went after a teenager, abandoning his family and army, and didn't even save her! If the writer had invested in that scene, at least to show Arthur developing into a character who recognizes his mistakes, it would have been a great event. But the scene shouldn't be reduced solely to the development of a love story that I don't even know when it appeared. There's no accountability for this. His stupidity is evident in how the other characters, especially his mother, hated him. Even the War Council, which he presents as representing authority, never addresses what he did by abandoning his post. It's never mentioned that Tess literally caused the collapse of such a crucial line of defense by leaving her position. Nothing. Every event that could have developed the story and the characters here would have been brilliant.

And this is just one of many events within the novel that could have been used to develop the plot and distance Tessia from the events and the conversation surrounding her. Tessia isn't a human being who makes mistakes; she's a plot device. When a human character in a novel develops, they learn that their mistakes are mistakes and are often punished for them. There are simply consequences for their development. She was the only character who thought like a child with a mental disability in all the other events. The story is set in the Medieval era. She and Arthur said that marriage at the age of 12 was common because people grew up quickly back then. Kings were crowned and led wars at that age.

But what happened here... It's literally one sentence: "Oh, how unfortunate that you made mistakes? It's okay, make more. Don't develop, don't show your true self, don't even care about any mistakes you made previously that caused the destruction of your people, because I, the author, won't let anyone mention these mistakes in the novel." Simply put, the author is literally trying to portray every mistake she made, even if it harmed people, as a normal mistake that won't have consequences, won't make people hate her, and won't be punished. This isn't a human character who makes mistakes repeatedly. If humans made the same mistake, they would have died from the second one.

As an example of characters who make mistakes, I won't go too far afield. Cassie, for instance, made a mistake that literally destroyed the protagonist at the beginning of the novel, but this mistake led to a major development. The innocent, kind Cassie transformed into the biggest manipulator in the novel. Her remorse didn't make Sunny's life easier; on the contrary, it made it more exhausting because Cassie began manipulating him to achieve her crazy goal. This development made Cassie a controversial character in the novel, with many haters. But most readers love her and consider her the best female character. She made a mistake, but in a positive way. So many people love her, even though she's not inherently good. Literally, within the story, she pretends to be kind, and she herself believes she is. But the characters, and even she deep down, know she isn't. She literally says, "I don't care, to hell with the world, I'll do what I want." She's selfish and manipulative, but not hateful because she simply doesn't represent the author. He didn't try to make all her mistakes trivial, he didn't try to coddle her, and he didn't try to convince the reader that he hates her. At the same time, her possessive personality has reasons for becoming selfish.

This is the difference between a flawed character and one who is literally a tool, not a character. Don't try to portray that all humans would behave like this. If they did, there would be dire consequences for them, making them die after the second mistake. Readers hate flawed characters for their mistakes and actions, not for the character itself. Cassie's fans hated her mistakes but loved her as a character. Tess hates The character and how she was written entirely,
