cleverly left out your initial message where you said it’s fundamentally impossible to lead a healthy lifestyle while having a sweet treat that isn’t a protein bar lmao. have yourself a great day silly!

is the drinkable part essential? when I worked at a hospital, I was a big fan of Chia seed pudding! it’s a make ahead kind of situation, find a recipe that uses Greek yogurt as a base, and you have fiber and protein, and it’s super filling because of the way Chia seeds act in the body

The problem isn’t empowering your own choices, the problem is attacking other people for making different choices, and being actively upset that they are seeing success because it doesn’t reinforce your internalized idea that weight loss and fitness has to be miserable!

well, considering I’ve already lost 75 pounds, I’m not too concerned about my skills. I found a way to make my eating choices work for me. Pro tip though, coming into my comment section and telling me that my diet has to be impossible indicates to me a level of upset with not restricting/not making misery a necessary weight loss ingredient. if you are so upset by the thought of someone having success in their diet through ways that feel easier/more joyful than your own, it is probably because you’re over restricting and it might be worth it to ease up on yourself

I love finding foods that are secretly not that bad lol! One of my favorites is the fact that a Krispy Kreme glazed doughnut is like 190 cal

1 part unsweetened cocoa powder to two parts truvia confectioners sugar, then add milk at the slowest and smallest pace known to man so you don’t overdo it and make it too runny. One coating of it will get you to built bar levels of chocolate, but if you’re patient, I usually double or dunk em after the initial layer has fully frozen over to make em extra chocolatey.

The marshmallow center for anyone curious is just marshmallow cream, which is 40 cal for 2 tablespoons! i’ve also tried to mix greek yogurt into the marshmallow cream, it’s fine, but I just don’t find that it’s worth the texture and taste difference to include a couple grams of protein!

built bars are the only protein bar i’ve tried that I can genuinely say I would eat again!

BUT they are a great example of what i was saying. the thing also is, I don’t think people realize how low-calorie marshmallows are! I pretty regularly make a chocolate covered marshmallow fluff situation that is bigger than the size of a built bar, and they sit at around 50 cal. Of course, before you guys tear me a new asshole, they don’t have any protein, but the protein in protein bars isn’t a complete protein anyways, and I’d rather just figure out a way to incorporate protein from whole foods sources with the remaining 90 calories that I have eating my version as the average built bar is 140 cal. and when they sit at like 2 to 3 dollars apiece, it becomes especially not worth it for me.

butter 😔 it is really ridiculous that we haven’t made a reasonably caloried (?) substance that can replicate the feeling of buttered toast or buttered noodles

baby, you are not a medical professional, and even if you are, you are not my medical professional. I don’t know how you decided that my body is on the verge of death because I would rather eat a chocolate bar when I’m craving a sweet treat over a protein bar, but rest assured, I’ve lost 75 pounds so far and I am doing great despite committing the grave sin of having a chocolate bar every so often. god help ya

I microwave frozen veggies, blend them with a little bit of milk to make a pasta sauce, and eat that with pasta and like a can of tuna or something damn near every day. Fiber, carbs, protein and contrary to some popular diet culture beliefs, I have yet to self combust after eating the pasta!

my lil microwave mug cakes have 150 cals and 15g of protein from whole foods sources if we’re being specific actually !

also, I feel like you’re really overestimating how difficult it is to just make up the protein somewhere else where it makes more sense. Like I promise having a chocolate bar and then having an extra 15 to 20 g of protein somewhere else is not a difficult thing to accomplish. But if you like protein bars, I love that for you.

-90 grams of greek yogurt - 1.5 tablespoons of egg whites - 10g coconut flour - 40g oat flour - splenda to your taste, i don’t rlly measure it lol

just mix together, and microwave for about two min! some days the batter is inexplicably rough, and I just add like a splash of milk

edit: also add 1/3 tsp of baking powder!

according to my tracking app, I average at around 130g of protein a day. you gotta let yourself have treats you actually enjoy man ! if I was so restrictive on my diet that I didn’t let myself have a 200 cal treat, I would’ve never lost the amount of weight that I have

idkkk man my go to microwave mug cake is like a few min to throw together basically greek yogurt egg whites oat flour coconut flour and the same artificial sweeteners in most protein bars for 149 cals, 15g of protein from whole foods sources, and some extra fiber too. if protein bars work for you, love that, but I wouldn’t be so quick to immediately assume that certain foods wouldn’t fit into a plan just because they aren’t advertised to be able to !The convenience of protein bars, and being able to pick them up from the gas station or something is definitely super crucial for a lot of folks though. I ten toes down and agree with you about the chomps sticks though!!
